I've heard there are some decent models on there

That’s a lot of money for a warm air mover!

Isn't it better to have a fan on the floor and direct the cooler air upwards, rather than circulate the warm air at this fan's height? I'm a Maeco fan by the way. I have two and they are nice a quiet.
Although, I suppose you could put this fan in front of an open window and suck cold air in. (edited)

Why? The existing models work just fine.

I just bought the 1056 desk fan from the earlier eBay offer. Was a grade B that came like new and best £60 I’ve spent in a long while. Quite and moves some air so I’d whole heartedly recommend their products.

Agreed. I ordered two by mistake and decide to keep both now (edited)

Same here. Have the older one but this goes taller which is better for our bedroom so the other one can be handed down to the kids 😃

Just bought on Monday from Costco online for £144🫠
    sadman120's avatar
I know it’s annoying but you can go back with just the receipt and they’ll refund the difference

Apparently it's slightly louder at the quietest
    AlphaFox's avatar

Apologies think this may be the older model (edited)

I think the DUUX fans represent better value and a better feature set than these.

It is difficult to read "Pole Power Technology for fully adjustable heights (3 options)" and not think there's a hefty dose of over-glamorous marketing and pricing going on here.

Anyone notice much difference compared to the older one? Just brought the older one a few months ago as didn't realise a newer one existed..

just bought one of these. mental how quiet it is. also handy remote comes out of centre of fan
    rmdraouk's avatar
Does this one have a remote ? I know the old one does ...

    Isn't this just a fan?

Bought 2 of these at this price from Sheffield today , they had about 8 left. Great price. The remote works better on this newer model compared to the previous model which was horrible. Now I can finally retire my Dyson am09

Just got out my 1056 that bought from deal on here July 2022still very happy with it can’t justify spending out on newer model
    howeva's avatar
It's worth upgrading for the remote alone. The new remote of the Sefte is much better in every way (direction and range). The 1056 remote is a PITA.

If you bought it at £144.99 earlier this week. You can request a price difference as mentioned elsewhere in the thread here:

Thanks for posting this deal. I didn't go for this one but had a look at Meaco fans. Good reviews everywhere, and I went for the 1056 for £94 from Air Con.
I was amazed by how good it is. All the features are great and it's the quietest I have ever had. It has very efficient cooling. I hadn't budgeted for it as I'm trying to save money for other things but, as I suffer quite badly in the heat and, after much deliberation, I took the plunge.
So, thanks again. This will help me cope when (if) summer arrives. (edited)
