Is this better than Vodafone Ultra Hub Wifi 6 router?
    KodaBear's avatar
The Ultra Hub is WiFI 6e, this is WiFi 6. The Vodafone hub supports a faster standard of WiFi. However with that said, the likes of a TP Link router will generally give more range and stability, as well as a little more freedom to customise your network.

The problem is if you have an ultra hub it means you're overpaying for your broadband package if you don't use it as it's one of the extras you pay for with a pro package. If you are only going to go and use your own router, you might as well pay less each month with a standard package and then buy one of these.

If you're already stuck in a pro contract, stick with their router and make the most of what you're paying extra for each month.

Excellent router. Much better WiFi coverage compared with Virgin's crappy routers.

great router improved my wifi over a more expensive tplink Archer 2800. probably due to the wifi6.

Nice router. Been using mine for several months now and no issues. Would recommend. Especially at the deal price.

Although easy mesh and one mesh are not meant to work together I can confirm that I have got AXE75 Tri-Band to mesh with this router and it works well.

    Used to replace Vodafone fibre

Does anyone know if this supports IPoE? Recently switched providers and a new router needs to support

I tried this one and found the Virgin router to work better lol. I tried so many routers and they've never been worth the money and mesh never works as you want it to. All that seemed to work for me was getting my virgin cable moved to the attic and putting the router in there. All of a sudden I get coverage everywhere and can even use it down the street lol. It's also where the 5G router goes because again for whatever reason it gets full bars of 5G signal from the tower, but even when I put it in the garden it gets nothing from the tower. Also the signal to the devices suddenly spreads all over the home, where if the router is in the hall, even central to the house... Nothing in some rooms or in the garden. I dunno how it works but I guess signal goes down and not up?

I’m with TalkTalk and the WiFi isn’t great upstairs on second floor. I’ve got the fibre 150 but not getting the speeds mentioned between 140 - 160. I do get it only if connected by Ethernet but not over WiFi. So will this router help or the AX73 AX5400. I’m not very technical so hopefully isn’t a difficult process to connect.

I’m not very good with stuff like this, but find we get good WiFi speeds around the house. Much better than our BT router which is supposedly the latest and best one available.

I have one of these and a cheap c80 acting as an easymesh extender. Fantastic coverage and great speeds. Highly recommend

Sorry for the silly question. I bought one of these a few months ago and once I finally managed to get it set up, it has been really good for WiFi around our house (compared to our BT router).

However good the WiFi is, we still can’t connect when we’re down the garden. Could someone recommend something like a booster that would work well with this please? Maybe one of the mesh type boosters would be the best bet?

I found the only way to get Wi-Fi in the garden was to put the router by the patio door in line of sight.
