A very good option to Guinness, in my opinion.

    Like guiness?

It’s really nice. Not trying to be Guinness. It’s slightly sweeter and falls between Guinness and Makeson’s for me. Also want to try the forged Irish stout which is apparently available in ASDA now

As a seasoned stout/porter drinker can say this is a step up from Guinness ,more complex in flavour and smoother . If you like your dark stuff give this a whirl and at £1 a can absolute bargain .
stacked up on Friday when it was £12 a box in the local Tesco ,now even better . (edited)

I think this is modelled on Guiness.

Interesting hearing people's opinions on this, I love draught Guinness but hate it canned or bottled so I'd pass on this unless they start selling it in pubs.
Still hope it does alright to squeeze whatever rubbish Conor McGregor is trying to flog now. His whiskey is terrible and he's a w.

I'm the same as you love draught Guinness not fond of it in cans. Been drinking the canned Brewdog stout for a few weeks and like it. I also like canned Murphys but struggle to find it anywhere.

Guinness seems to be the gold standard in HUKD. Or maybe it's just because it's the most advertised and users think it is. Murphy's is a superior stout.
But that's just my opinion. I like Guinness and this brewdog in their own way too.

It's ok to not be a 1 tribe drinker. The company's aren't as loyal to you as you are to them. (edited)

Murphy's definitely has more taste when it comes to cans. Only place I ever come across them is B&M.

I am a great fan of Guinness and I still highly rate this stuff. It's a very smooth full bodied stout with a bit of a coffee flavour I find. It doesn't keep it's head like a Guinness.
I would just try it before bashing it. A lot of folk just don't like Brewdog as a brand.

    Great company

I thought this was pretty good. Not far off Guinness but let's be honest Guinness can be average alot of the time depending on where you get it.

Just going to say it, it's better than Guinness...
    Heat!

Excellent deal. Tastes just like Guinness with more flavour. There’s a lack of other brands doing stout. There used to be Murphys a sweet version that wasn’t a patch on Guinness but if you did a blind taste test I’m sure most would go for Black Heart

There also used to be, I suppose a very long time ago now, Beamish stout available on tap in the UK, at least for a while. I doubt it was the real Irish brewed stuff but I remember preferring it to Guinness and absolutely more so than that awful Murphys [insert vague euphemistic derogatory word, that won't pass the profanity filter, that describes an almost undrinkable drink]

Preferred it to Guinness personally. Obviously not when Guinness is kept well and fresh in a pub but compared to Guinness in cans.

This is nice stuff, a little like Guinness but with more flavour, not quite as smooth but better overall IMO. Both are good stouts.

    Me and hubby like it
  14. kramer2088's avatar
Tastes the way you think guinness does( until you pour a can and realise its tasteless). Better than guinness.

I got it on Friday @£12 and drank them over the weekend. It was OK, with a slight roast coffee flavour as others have noted. It's not naturally carbonated and has a creaminess like Guinness so it uses NO2 but without the Guinness Widget. I forgot to try but I should have tried it through the Nitro Surge as it could be a far cheaper alternative to the £2.40 cans Guinness sell.

I still prefer Guinness but I'd be tempted to buy these if they stay at £10.

It works well with the Nitrosurge.

£10 for 10 cans is a bargain, particularly in light of Guinness increasing their prices again (up ~16.5% since the start of the year!) and the recent duty changes.

Rally don't understand people saying this is like Guinness, maybe the consistency of the liquid, that's about it. Got a strong roast taste and burnt flavour. Personally not a touch on Guinness and forged Irish.

    Agree

They used to fo Jet Black Heart, which was brilliant.
Then they tried to chase the Guinness market with this insipid imitation.
  18. dogbone_1's avatar
Are they a bud light type company?
    ansonuk1's avatar
They've lost their spurious "B Corp" status 😃
  19. bluesuns2's avatar
Irish style stout that gets poor reviews that probably sums it up
  20. tom6195's avatar
Not very nice this stuff stick to the guinness
  21. DevilWithin's avatar
Not much between this and regular Guinness cans. Would be nice to see a clubcard price back on Nitrosurge cans.
    Dheano's avatar
Tap a needle into the round bit in the centre of the ringpull on a regular Guinness can (with the widget ball inside). Slowly release the gas until the can crinkles. Open can, widget should not go off. Stick on your Nitrosurge and pour. Almost exactly the same as a Nitrosurge can but half the price!

Love this stuff! Better than Guinness for me
  23. RaymondDundee's avatar
Not a patch on Guinness. I'd buy a single can before getting 10- tastes burnt to me. All down to personal preference though
  24. samspud's avatar
Another Guinness fan here.... And I love this
  25. oOFincHyOo's avatar
Had high hopes for this, love brewdog but this was a real letdown.

    Stick to Guinness.

After a couple you're not gonna care. Stock up
  27. ansonuk1's avatar
Long established Belhaven Black is far superior
    SaturdayGigs's avatar
Let's be honest how would you possibly know? You won't entertain brewdog as a company or their goods
  28. JD9000's avatar
One of my fav's that Brewdog has to offer, although I am not sure why they are launching a stout into supermarkets during the summer, albeit it's a pretty naff summer.
  29. theface's avatar
Brewdog did a great nitro coffee stout called Roaster Coaster. I wish they'd kept making that and mass released it. Having said that Black Heart is very decent.

You missed the deal on Discount Dragon last month? £40 per slab
  30. porkchopkid's avatar
Prefer guiness. This is lighter and sweeter.. tasted thin bit between a stout and lager
  31. PaulandPam's avatar
Tried it today and can honestly say I really like it.
