Shall I jump on it or wait for prime day?

I was wondering why Amazon increased most of the SSD prices.........lookalike massive savings when they apply the discounts on prime day (edited)

Cheap, as QLC NAND should be.
£1.40 more gets you a TLC NAND drive -

I notice they don't explicitly promise TLC.

I am using this drive now and I can't remember why but I felt a small disappointment upon installing mine. I think I ran SSD_ID and at the time it reported QLC, or maybe just old TLC. I can't recall *which* ssd id and controller so can't verify right now.

It does have 6 TB/written and is at 90% health/wear-indicator.

It could have been a low TBW that disappointed me. It's cheap for a reason.

I prefer KIOXIA if you can get one.

Can you buy a caddy for these? To be able to use as an external HD?

You can indeed. 2.5" ssd to usb caddy (edited)

Great price, voted hot, and if it's an OS drive for an older pc, go for it, but personally I'd be put off having brought two previously, and having both die within 3 months. Probably a bad batch but I tend to be picky on certain brands and models now simply because of a few bad experiences with some of the cheaper SSDs.

SSD's are funny things, I've never had issues with Crucial drives, but a guy I know at work has had two BX500 drives die in a row now.

just thought i'd mention, although the title says UK Mainland only, it does still post to Northern Ireland for 17.99, at least for me with prime membership.

Ultimate and QLC should never be used in the same sentence!

QLC, at least they're honest, heat for the price.

What gets me is the 'Ultimate' in the name of a low budget DRAM-less QLC NAND SSD.
    Ultimate what? (edited)

QLC is fine for a drive just for games, right?

Thanks I'm gonna give it a go on My laptop which runs really slow and has a 320gb standard drive, for the price it would be silly not to
