sorted bySilicon Power XS70 and Netac NV7000 4TB have swapped out Phison E18 controller with the unreliable Innogrit controller (another explanation here) - which is very sneaky of them, and probably why they can discount their prices.
The Lexar NM790 has a new Maxio controller which has Linux problems on the latest kernel, if you're buying for PS5 or Windows then maybe you'll be fine. It also uses the new YMTC NAND chips which have not been around long so we cannot comment on the reliability of them.
Any cheaper 4TB drives will be QLC, so they're trash if you're writing lots of data, but for game storage/archival purposes, I guess they are okay. (edited)
Does that indicate that the "optional" heat-sink is included, or would I need to buy it seperately?
EDIT: I'm referring to the 2TB drive. (edited)
WD_Black SN850X 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Gaming SSD with Heatsink up to 7300 MB/s read speed amzn.eu/d/7…02p
Still a good price for a drive that comes with a factory heatsink though.
