4tb drives of similar spec have been below £180 on here a few times. I wouldn't call this deal hot personally.

Actually, this is the best deal for a *reliable* 4TB NVMe.

Silicon Power XS70 and Netac NV7000 4TB have swapped out Phison E18 controller with the unreliable Innogrit controller (another explanation here) - which is very sneaky of them, and probably why they can discount their prices.

The Lexar NM790 has a new Maxio controller which has Linux problems on the latest kernel, if you're buying for PS5 or Windows then maybe you'll be fine. It also uses the new YMTC NAND chips which have not been around long so we cannot comment on the reliability of them.

Any cheaper 4TB drives will be QLC, so they're trash if you're writing lots of data, but for game storage/archival purposes, I guess they are okay. (edited)

The listing says "The WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD 1TB and 2TB drives have an optional heatsink version that not only looks awesome but also helps your rig maintain peak performance through the most intense gaming sessions."

Does that indicate that the "optional" heat-sink is included, or would I need to buy it seperately?

EDIT: I'm referring to the 2TB drive. (edited)

I believe its separate item entirely. Same drive, but has the factory heat sink already fitted. I don’t think you can buy the OEM heatsink on its own.

Already have the 2tb versions, and they are very fast drives. The sweet 4tb is tempting though.

Looks like it will accommodate a second M.2 NVMe, see here.

Can anyone recommend reliable multi drive thunderbolt enclosures? Ideally capable of taking 4 drives that work well with Mac's. Thanks

May as well get the drive for £84 and stick your own £4 heatsink on it.
Still a good price for a drive that comes with a factory heatsink though.

I paid £175 from eBay back in June for the 4TB. a brand new unboxed drive. It has been solid since, I’ve done a warranty check and all is good. Lives inside the PS5 and will last me the entire generation. - When PS5’s are jailbroken I’ll move this over to my second PS5. - Id wait until BF. There will be deals on this no doubt.
