I only need 5gb data/month. which they are offering for £2.50 a month for the first three months and 4.97/month after. it's my second line though (for Nigerian call rates at 7p/min), not my main line.

Not much, Lebara may have cheaper not necessarily better short term deals for "new" customers but then going by previous posts they do not allow existing customers to change deal without getting a new number.

I have Lebara already but only get 20gb for 7.95, so interested in more data fir a similar price so long as it has eu roaming - yes O2 does that at present but having been stung by Three's U turn on roaming I am sceptical.

Sorry, wrong. They don't allow half price or cheaper price for x months, unless you port out & back, but their prices are great &, with the surprising exception of a 15GB for £6.99 tariff, all other tariffs can be accessed by exisiting customers. hotukdeals.com/com…290

Signed up to Lyca 5 weeks ago, within 2 hours took the sim out as the speeds and coverage (O2) was extremely bad (sub 1Mbs at midday on a sunday) where I wanted to use it. Contacted them via email (the same day I connected) and chat several times since and been unable to stop the sim and them taking out further payments. They even refused to refund me at one point as I had used the unlimited sim for 30000KB (30MB) and about 3 mins of calls. Still waiting for them to cancel it and refund me -

At the moment Lebara do include roaming in the EU countries, but they are not vastly generous with data limits - the amount of data depends on the cost of your tariff (there is a PDF which can both be a pain to find your tariff in & enlightening as to all the tariffs they offer)!

They also offer roaming in India, but again check the included allowances (everything is limited IIRC).

Great prices, fast data (if you get good Vodafone coverage, which I do), but let down by Customer Services if you have need to contact (like most mobile operators in my experience). I'll be moving my dad across next when his Vodafone contract is up, most likely.

A better service and customer service.

I moved from Lebara to Lyca and it was a BIG mistake.

    1. The card on my account expired and it didn't renew the monthly plan. I lost the monthly plan and the customer service were trying to get me to pay more for less.
    2. When I started, I got the SIM and had to enter a code to activate the SIM. It wasn't working, so I had to call CS.
    3. CS were friendly, but simply couldn't understand what I was saying. I had no confidence the issues would get solved. In fairness they did, but there was no confidence.

Lyca are reasonable price, but awful service overall and things work like an early 2000s SIM.

I moved back to Lebara in protest. Got my SIM, put it in and it worked instantly. No issues at all.

It's not just about price or amount of data available.

u should have listened to my rant in the comment section. I used them four years ago, ported them for Giffgaff and I just left Giffgaff for Lebara two days ago. I'll never go back to Lyca no matter how cheap their plans are

They may not be able to meet this price per GB, but from what I have read over the years Lyca data can be iffy quality wise & recently I was shocked by how iffy o2 data speeds were. May work for some, but personally Lebara wins on usability. Thankfully I have no need of 50GB (about 2GB in my mobile & 400GB odd in my router - the latter I was lucky enough to get on a 24 month pre-paid EE SIM for not much more than this per month ).

To those who enjoy Lyca, this is no doubt decent, but I personally wouldn't touch o2, let alone Lyca.

Signed up to the deal and the sim card has arrived with no bundle activated even though they took the £9.90. These were just a stop gap prior to deciding on a new contract. Great start! Had to email as no way of speaking with customer services having gone through all the options. Terrible!
