I'd be mindful of contraptions such as this depending on your bodyweight and house type.

I live in a new build which is obviously made up of plasterboard walls. I bought one of these early in lockdown to try and maintain whatever muscle mass I could whilst the gym was closed.

The first time I used it, I heard a massive creak/crack in the wall above the door frame as that's where all of the weight is applied. I'm convinced if I'd continued using it, it would have gone through the wall. I'm 190- 220lbs depending on time of year so I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a heavy person either.

If you live in an older house with brick walls or thick plaster walls you'll likely be ok. (edited)

He's doing ab crunches so he can keep his torso stable, stop him from swinging and isolate his abs.

Anyone know if these cause damage to the skirting around the door frame or pull frame away from wall if using for pull ups?

It 100% damages the frame and the wall around the frame. I'm not a heavy guy but my doorframe has been damaged and the plaster above it has been cracked. Not something I would recommend at any price

better off getting a wall mounted or free standing one. Heat for the price because the rest of the kit is worth more than a tenner
