My my, resorting to name insults now are we? Pretty much says it all - How petty. You obviously only listen to those who have had problems and not those who haven’t. Mind you, talking to a blank wall seems to be the only thing your mental state is able to do, you’re unable to accept that many others have had no issues whatsoever with these drives and refuse to entertain the probability that someone claiming to have several units go wrong may be their own fault. Is your middle name gullible (lol) (popcorn)

Answering you is like arguing with a recorded message. I'm not fond of banging my head against a brick wall, OK for you - yours is hollow. So have fun, pointless talking to a recorded message

Try telling that to the halfwit above (Luke the puke) who seems to believe any problem others have is THEIR fault, rather than there may actually be makes that have a poor record.

I don't agree that it must be their own fault or 'incredible bad luck', just because their experience differs from your own. Particularly when 3 people said it.

Hmm, So you agree with those who claim to only 1 or 2 have failed and therefore draw a conclusion that a brand is therefore unreliable?

Very good price for this.

Yeah, I guess you could say that & also for PNY. I bought this PNY 8Gb drive over 10 years ago & still have it - because of the size, use it now only to install operating systems with. It was the fastest USB2 for the money at the time & it didn't disappoint: PNY Attache Optima 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive £17.99 & Play.com (not pre-order)

Very good price from a reputable brand. Heat given.

Can't go wrong and the honest write speeds quoted always scores points with me for a retailer. Most hide the realistic write speeds and quote nonsense. WYSIWYG is always appreciated.

Good find heat added

Well then, I ordered this last Friday as they quoted 1 to 2 days delivery so, low and behold, it turns up, just like the shop name, 7{days later)shop... Testing it now.

Little intelligence in these. I have both a Lii-500 and a WH2-DS-127. The WH2 is better in that it reconditions batteries as well as discharge measuring the capacity. The 500 discharge measures capacity and also does Lithiums. If you don't need an 18650 charger, get the WH2. Here we also have this continued promotion of the almost unknown, dumb, xtar. It crops up in so so many charger posts!!

XTAR VC4 is 5X better that OPs posted, but still not the best. I only keep it now for my special batteries to charge, which goes to wireless alarm system. Otherwise it would be in a bin now..

Wait, didn't you go on a thread of mine about nine months ago raving about the XTAR VC4? You seem to have changed your mind. https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/32955789 Rimi 31st Dec 2017 Well, if I needed one- XTAR VC4 would be my choice. Charges all types of batteries, plugs to any usb power source and best of all - charges flat batteries, not like others. And cost £15 at AliExpress time to time.

Most devices? Generally printers, keyboards, mice, webcams, in fact most computer peripherals, are not going to be usb 3.0, or benefit from a USB 3.0 hub. And this isn't going to change, because none of them would gain anything from being usb 3.0. So, yes if you are connecting a lot of USB storage devices at once you will need a USB 3.0 hub, but otherwise I can't see the benefit. I actively chose a USB 2.0 hub because of the potential for them to disrupt wireless devices that use the 2.4GHz frequency. The USB 3 devices that I do have can be plugged directly into the remaining ports on the machine.

As do I have a number of USB 2.0 devices, but when I buy a hub I expect it to be at least compatible with all my devices rather than only those usb 2.0 devices. Most devices you buy these days will be USB 3.0 hence I am surprised people would consider something like this. For me its buy once and buy it right.

my wife seems to get through a lot of batteries? so I thought I would get one of these just to check which batteries are really dead.Happy wife happy battery life. ;)

No , it doesn't do the same job. The scales at 1.25 and 1.5 volts are different in sensitiveness. I always use a battery tester to read how charged my rechargeables are, like this one, even when I have two multimeters.

Always worth checking a set of batteries before you change them all. Often find that only one is dead. Also if you have battery operated clocks most of those will run very happily on batteries which are down to 1/3 power and not good enough to drive motorised appliances/toys.

I've had one of these battery testers for years and I wouldn't be without it. Sure a multi meter will do a similar job but you've first got to learn how to work one of those whereas with this battery tester the results are crystal clear and instant. If you're going to be picky about price, there are other types of battery testers on the market which are a fraction of the cost of this tester but they're fiddly to use. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-AA-AAA-C-D-9V-1-5V-Universal-Button-Cell-Battery-Volt-Tester-Checker/202077321342?hash=item2f0cbf387e:m:mUlI_Ar4NBf6hzKG3REujDw

I am extremely pleased with the Duracell fast charger I've got 2 years ago. People suggest fast chargers are killing the batteries but in my case, got well over 50 rechargeable and in 2 years only one stopped working. An Energizer. Don't know about testing, but my charger seems to do a very good job.

Not taking away anything from this deal(I've voted Hot), but from the Which tests, you can do a lot worse than get the Ikea Ladda rechargeables. 4 x 2450mAh AAs for £5.50, the Ladda 4 battery charger is £10. You can the lower capacity AAs (1000mAh) for £3/pack of 4. 4 packs of AAAs are £4 (900mAh) and £2.50 (500mAh) Although the USB option seems like a good deal (2 x AA or AAA charger plus 4 x batteries for £5) I find it takes a bloody long time to charge and should only be considered as a back up. Hope this helps...

Is that Amazon one about as good as you need these days? I have a load of old Duracell rechargeables that don't seem to work anymore and the charger just flashes a red light at me which isn't much use, is there a charger which acts as a tester as well?

Agree with you. Maybe not terrible, but could be much better. However, still good to know what you buy. If you choose Lidl batteries, they claim high capacity, but reviews show half of the advertised capacity. Also, have some high capacity Fuji, again, half of the advertised size. To me, this deal in just a decent deal, you can find better, you can find worse. I rather go with the Amazon Duracell fast charger and get 2 sets of Varta from Screwfix, total £21, but for some people this is a decent deal.

PNY Micro SDHC 32GB Card - Twinpack £13.49 7dayshop

Great price for 2 32GB cards

Unfortunately out of stock. You can still buy two single ones for £14.78, but you'd be better off spending the extra 21p on the two Toshiba cards from shalton's link as they are U3 and will have a quicker write speed. https://www.sdcard.org/developers/overview/speed_class/

Thanks. Given that the device I would want to use them with is not equipped with Micro SD this completely confirms that they are not suited to my needs. Thank God I have an eyetest later today. Seems like I am misreading a LOT.

They don't have USB connectors, they have Micro SD contacts, and the carrier/adaptor card has SD contacts... all are gold plated steel / copper or whatever. Hope that helps.

Do these have plastic or metal usb connectors? I have had PNY sticks with the plastic connector and would like to avoid making that mistake again. Thanks.

"It's funny how some manufacturers and vendors are afraid to specify the write speeds." I believe there's probably great logic to that madness perhaps?. As doing so that way, it indirectly staves of the multitude of potential naysayers, WHO may perhaps/no doubt be vocally skeptical on some of their pricing 'ranges', IF such read/write parameters were alllllll listed out in FULL ... But, who knows?. :-)

OP .. I think you would have got more heat for your Deal IF you had perhaps mentioned the 'brand' of your memory card?. Eg. Kingston, etc?. Which in turn would also indirectly help all others at a future date too ... (Via possible future HUKD search queries, and such like?).

Another option (arguably the best), but be quick as it won't last long: Samsung 128GB Evo Plus Micro SD Card (SDXC) UHS-I U3 + Adapter £24.99 @ MyMemory

Fair point that, but after saying all that, it still blatantly depends on your 'needs' though, right?. Eg. Of for thing's like the above, then a horse running at 24 of it's 24 cylinder's isn't exactly needed/required, is it?. And if needing it to make (then store) the eventual 1001 pictures from your Phone you'll ever make with your Phone (with the pure intention of then transferring allllllll to the Memory Card), then again: "a horse running at 24 of it's 24 cylinder's isn't exactly needed/required, is it?." But if your intention are pure 4K, 4K, and 4K again, then ... (That's a 50/50 I guess?). But either way, the same rule's apply, eg. it depends purely of what your needs for such things are in the first place, etc?. :-) (And as you didn't speculate as to what your own 'unique needs' for one of these would be, I for my own part, also chose/decided not to speculate forth either ... ) ;-)

No the carts wont fit in it.

My reading comprehension is off, re-reading it I see you mentioned it was PNY already. Sorry, but thanks for the confirmation about Grixx drives not lasting very long (embarrassed)

My comment was about PNY - the one that failed had lasted over 4 years with constant use and I had no problem in ordering another PNY. All the GRIXX USB sticks I bought have failed, one on the first loading, but all within a year or purchase. I didn't bother to replace under warranty after the first replacement failed as they were just too unreliable to contemplate using for anything.

It wasn't the Grixx USB 3.0 128GB, was it? Mine stopped working a few months ago for no apparent reason and it only gets used sparingly! Pretty sure I bought it from 7dayshop as well, via HUKD.

Who wants to wait until there eighties to copy large files.... Ok I get it I am a bit ott, however for me the point of having large storage is that you usually are copying largish files so would rather spend a bit more for faster write speed.
