Unlikely this model was in BTTF2 as illminator watches came out early 90's from my memory. Its a nice looking watch though, calculator watch / remote control watch is the holy grail of retro Casio's.

Absolutely love it, been wearing it every day despite I have 4 other fairly expensive brands, one thing to point out thought, the watch isn’t as big as it looks here on the photos, must admit I was slightly disappointed when opened the box and saw how small the actual fascia is.

Hehehe, I believe 'age' came into the equation with part of that perception possibly?.

When we were still yet wee ones, this phone looked HUGE!.

BUT, now that we are grown folk, it's perhaps like ... lol.

I could be wrong?. :-)

Thanks for the Lidl info, picked up lots of Tronic ones from Lidl in Ipswich (boy they look snazzy). I will be able to see which are better. You can never have too many with 4 kids and electrical items. remotes, xbox controllers, laser guns. I have the 7dayshop charger which works pretty well then if the batteries don't register on it I charge with a GP Recyko charger, both pretty old. Now I can charge them during the week and there should always be some available when they are needed.

The "amps" in a battery is not a meaningful concept, as it depends on what you are doing with it (whether you are drawing current or not). You probably mean Ah or amp hours (or for batteries usually mAh). It can be tested in the factory by charging then discharging it, measuring the current as a function of time then integrating (assumes voltage is fixed). Manufacturers vary how they do it, I think many measure total energy via voltage readings over a fixed resistor during discharge, then convert back to mAh.

Also if you drain batteries quite fast, you won't get the stated capacity due to the way they measure it - they usually measure the discharge over a longer time (10 hours) which gives a more favourable result than when done through a quicker discharge.

Who knows? But 5 year old data isn't worth spit.

If the data was correct five years ago. Just would have thought rechargeable battery technology would have advanced more in the last five years than standard batteries therefore the difference would have been even more in favour of rechargeables? However i have no basis for this and still use throw away

Why not? New battery chemistries don't come along very often.

No. But marketing changes all the time, so just because two products look the same, they can, and probably will be drastically different over a few years. Different manufacturers will develop their products differently over time, so relative performance will change.
Duracell's a classic example of that. At one time, they were almost the "gold Standard". Not any more.

Heat from me as I think this is great if you use Duracell batteries but I’m unemployed now so I’m watching my pennies.I started buying Lidl batteries as I watched a TV I’m sure it was the gadget show. They put all leading brands (Duracell) in remote controlled cars and the Aldi ones lasted the longest. Here is a piece of info out of the daily mail.

Big-brand batteries may last longer — but that doesn’t mean you’re getting value for money. Consumer magazine Which? recently calculated the cost of disposable batteries, both AA and AAA, per hour of usage, with some startling results.

Most brands — including Sony, Sainsbury’s own, Tesco and GP — cost around 10p (for AAA batteries) or 12p (for AA batteries) per hour. However Lidl, Aldi and Maplin Value batteries cost just 2p to 4p per hour.

Sure but using that warranty is inconvenient. Single batteries out of multi packs fail over time. You have to go to store to replace them.l but they won't be on sale when you do. Very uncomfortable headphones. They are very tight on the head and my head is not even big. This was designed for kids! Returned at my own expenses.

I'm studying morse code (a long and painful process) and I need to be completely cut out from any noise because otherwise I can't tell the dits from the dahs. Music quality is not really important. I need a pair of headphones that isolate me and don't cost a fortune. Are these too good to be true? Reviews seem quite good.

Any good?

No It's a piece of junk. It has a poor APU, Low resolution and records as AVI. Decent dash cams will use a decent APU like the Novatek NT96650/55 or the Ambarella a7, will record in .MOV at true 1080p (30/60FPS) have a 6 layer lens - that has a 140/170d field of view - and have sensor with an aperture under 2.0.

As I've said many time before: If you are in a 'contested' accident worth 1000s of pounds don't you want the best footage to prove your innocence? Dash Cams like the one listed here is 'better than nothing' but blown up on a tv screen the footage will be blurry, laggy and the low field of view might mean you don't record the accident at all.

Personally If you can't afford £40/£50 for a decent Dash Cam I would rather use an old mobile phone (like a Samsung Galaxy S2) with a dash cam app and a cheap fisheye lens to convert the lens to wide angle.
Edited by: "StonedSte" 21st Oct 2017

Processor is an upgraded novatek 96220

Real resolution 720p, so if you buy this it would be better to use it set at 720p

1080p will be by interpolation.

Pay a few quid extra for a G1W which has the better novatek 96650 and a better image sensor, with better low light performance, real 1080p and records using h.264.
