    What is hall effect?

It's a joystick sensor technology that use magnets instead of the older resistive sticks. It means they don't develop stick drift over time.

It appears that these 'C' variants are not compatible with Nintendo Switch.

Do people use this for the Switch? Any good

    There's a specific switch version:

8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth & 2.4g Controller with Charging Dock for Switch and Windows - Black amzn.eu/d/5…osM

Has the better sticks (Hall effect) but is more expensive.

Sounds very cheap. What am I missing?

I see now that’s it’s a cut down version with no back paddles, no gyro, no charging dock, no Bluetooth, and no Switch compatibility.

I have the black one. It's superb. Great being able to plug in the dock to a usb on your pc and have the controller permanantly connected/charged.

No Bluetooth? How would it connect to an iPad Pro?

The C model doesn’t connect to a Apple products

Be wary that without the dock I was getting so much Latency connecting the Dongle to direct to PC, works perfect with dock but dissapointing had to be connected at all times

Don't think these versions have the hall effect joysticks. (edited)

    Can this be confirmed?

They make some excellent controllers if anyone wants to see a good comparison between them and find the right model for their needs I recommend checking out retro game corps comparison video on YouTube from the other day

Is this any good for the Amazon gaming thing. Luna I think it's called?

Would these be a good choice over the Xbox controller for use on pc? :/
    Minstadave's avatar
I personally prefer the Xbox controller as its hassle free and has native support. It looks like these essentially work as a native xbox controller though and are rechargeable. (edited)

Would this work on nintendo switch?

I’m not sure. If it’s Bluetooth enabled then I don’t see why not but best to confirm with someone who already owns one or check the product page for details.

I can't get to grips with the triggers on these. They just don't feel 'right' and to me. Would love them to throw some short throw triggers on.

Having to take mine back as i thought it would have worked on tbe xbox seen as its the same setup not sure why they wouldn't make one that works on the xbox and PC like the Xbox controller does.

    Seen?

So are these forgames played on the PC & Laptop or can be used for an xbox as well?

The "pink" (purple!) is so prettyyyyyyy

Sadly the lack of bluetooth is a deal breaker for me though.

I have the Pro 2 version of one of theirs, and whilst decent, its thumbsticks and their deadzones are to stiff and too big to be used as a serious alternative to an Xbox One controller, if you're playing online shooters.

Anyone able to confirm that the thumbsticks on this model are MUCH more tactile and responsive?
