how much to fit it? Whats average cost for electrician these days?

The general consensus appears to be that it comes with a 13A plug. The cost of fitting a 13A spur in a kitchen (should one be needed) will vary from kitchen to kitchen. And where in the Country you are (London electrician rates being rather larger than, say, Lincolnshire. You aren't allowed to alter fixed wiring unless certified - especially in a kitchen.

If this was indeed a "standard" 4 ring induction hob with these wattage elements - a 45A (or ever greater) dedicated circuit back to the consumer unit would be needed, generally speaking. Again, costs will vary. My kitchen is right underneath the consumer unit and the oven and hob would just need a vertical drop from consumer unit through one wooden floor and chased down the wall. So, the whole job would take less than an hour. Not everyone has an overhead mains cable that comes in just above the kitchen, though.

It's not that incredible a price, that's a vastly inflated RRP. £289 on appliances direct and that's not even a sale price.

Those are really expensive still! The code will work though.

    • Left Front - Power/Diameter: 2300/2800W/210mm
    • Left Rear - Power/Diameter: 1800/2800W/180mm
    • Right Front - Power/Diameter: 1400/2500W/145mm
    • Right Rear - Power/Diameter: 1800/2800W/180m

That would indicate that a 45A circuit would be needed - more if shared with an oven (although a bit of load diversity probably applies).

I suppose that it could be designed to run off a 13A plug - just by limiting the total power consumption. So you could have the full 2800W on a single ring - but it would be down to 700W per ring if all of them were in use.

Yes. I've got a similar AEG and that's how it works. 13A plug and if I power max all sections, it takes a decision to lower power on some of them automatically. The display also indicates this

I very recently went for hisense i6433c7 (appears in some reviews as best value induction hob). Recently dropped to £230 most places now, got it in Argos with 20% new customer Topcashback which seems a decent deal
