I'm on the look out for a uke for my little girl, that I can also grab hold of from time to time.
Guitarguitar have had a few entry level ones on offer some some time now, although I'd not seen this. A nice little bargain for just over £100, if you want a sold top model

I'm not 100% sure which I'll go for yet, but thought I'd give this one a share.

Alvarez Artist ukuleles are lively and sophisticated instruments that deliver an exceptional player experience.

Alvarez ukuleles have been carefully designed to bring players an open-sounding and responsive instrument with good projection, rich volume and fine tone.

All Alvarez ukuleles are constructed with a dovetail neck joint for optimal strength and transfer of energy between the neck and body. The bracing design is a modification on traditional fan-style braces to optimize response. This response is also aided by a solid “slotted” rosewood bridge, which enhances projection and helps to make string changes easier and quicker.

Other appointments and features include quality-seasoned tonewoods, real bone nut and saddles, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and premium tuners.

    Nice ukulele!

Depending on your daughter's age (or rather, handspan), some chord shapes might be a stretch on a tenor-scale.

    Personally, I like concert-scale.

    For bargains I'd suggest second-hand. I've picked up a Noah that's £250 new for £50 and a Kala that's £100 new for £20.

She's only 4, but a big 4 She's around the size of a 6 year old and good sized hands. She strums away on my Faith Neptune and my electrics. (Bit of a reach over on the Faith though, haha) I want the uke for myself mostly, but something more accessible to her. I have a small classical acoustic for her, for in a few years, I just need to give it a bit of a rebuild and some TLC.

Trying to use it as a bit of a gateway and make it all as accessible as possible, as she's shown interest. I'm just doing single string work with her at the moment and when she's ready, we'll see where we are at. If I need to get something better suited, I will indeed do it.

    Good deals you got there!

    Cheers, for the comment!
