Hold your horses these are imperial sizes not metric. I nearly fell for it myself.

If you know your onions 5/8 is about 16mm so worth having just for that one. 3/8 crops up quite a bit , sometimes handy for a worn 10mm nut

For that price, these are well worth a look at. Thanks for posting OP 👌

    Ordered 💪 🚬 (edited)

Great for classic car owners. Used Halfords Pro ratchet spanners all the time when I had my MG.

Don't faff about metric vs imperial.

My old man's advice was to keep trying until you find one that fits. (works for spanners too )

Your Oldman spoke a lot of sence! As long as it fits and does the job!... Who cares :/

I think it's a good price; AND you headline SAE; AND you state 'Note: Imperial not metric'; so why you get silly repetitive comments is beyond me.

I think there are some very sad HUKD'ers around that should just get on with life; but that's just MHO!

    Totally agree with you 👌🤝

    Imperial crap

For what it's worth, a lot of manufacturers make products with "worldwide" size bolts. So, that 10mm head is actually 3/8" (9.5mm), and that 13mm head is actually 1/2" (12.7mm). Most of the time it's fine, but for that tight bolt and/or soft metal, an imperial spanner/socket can save you rounding it off.

Ah so that's why i needed a 14mm the other day even though the instructions said 13mm! Everyday's a school day (edited)

    For anyone wondering
The Imperial system is based on the inch / foot / yard / mile (length), the ounce / pound / stone / hundredweight (weight / mass) and the fluid ounce / pint / quart / gallon (volume).

The clue is with SAE in the title. However, not everyone will know that's an American organization.

These are really hit and miss unfortunately.
One is lovely and smooth, 3 were stiff and clunky, and 1 was really stiff and questionable. If they were all like the first one they'd be great. I'm going to soak them in WD40 and try free them up with a bolt in a drill before i call them a bad buy. But then again, what do you get for £5 these days?

Imperial not metric,  American market / old school

Of course this is imperial or it would be called a spanner.

Only worked for me if they were the only item in the basket. Couldn't have more than one 40% voucher item in the basket at the same time. (edited)
