    Is it worth paying a bit more for this or just grabbing a Ryzen 5 5600X at £150?

    Doing a first build and all I've got so far is the SSD, 16GB RAM & a RX 6700 XT GPU.

    Since you already bought DDR4, you might as well go with 5600X.

    That said, for anybody else, I do think the extra costs of the 7600X and AM5 are worth it. Higher initial up front cost, but if you view it as a sort of 'per year' cost and the fact that you'll get more longevity out of the 7600X, along with higher performance for that entire period of ownership as CPU demands rise, I think it's easily justifiable.

    Not that going with a very affordable AM4 setup isn't worth it if you're really intent on just getting something decent for as cheap as possible. And yea, as somebody above says, might as well go with a regular 5600 in this situation to shave off as much money as possible. (edited)
