The AnkerMake M5 is a 3D printer that’s designed to help you print smart. Its built-in AI camera recognition system keeps your prints on track, even as it prints at 5x faster speed with 0.1mm precision. With an Ultra clean and modern-looking design the AnkerMake M5 won’t look out of place and with its easy-to-setup design you'll be printing away in no time. This bundle includes 5 x 1kg Sunlu PLA 3D printer filaments which makes it fantastic value.

EXPLORE THE 3D PRINTING FRONTIER
With the AnkerMake M5, you can experience printing up to 5x faster than your average 3D printer with a 0.1mm precision. Thanks to the 250mm/s print speed you'll see printing speeds reduced, in both simple and more complex designs with up to 75% cut in printing time. Driven by PowerBoost you'll be able to achieve high-speed precision, thanks to its optimised Y-axis transmission system. PowerBoost uses a powerful stepper motor, double-belt driveshaft, and stabilised motion algorithm to produce loads of extra power.

PRECISE 0.1MM DETAIL
Even at 5x speed the AnkerMake M5 never compromises, always giving stable quality. Freeing you from the need to sand down gives you smoothness in every layer, no matter how thick or thin, giving you the creative freedom to be as intricate as you like with your designs without having to worry about the restrictions of the machine being able to keep up with the detail.

HIGHER MULTI-STAGE GEAR RATIO
With its Ultra-Direct Extruder and higher multi-stage gear ratio, this gives the AnkerMake M5 the foundation for high-speed printing. With a 9.37 reduction ratio putting out 0.8 N.m of torque, the strong twisting puts pressure on the melting chamber to make extrusion faster.

LARGER HEATING BLOCK
Giving you 1.5x the melting capabilities, the 60W heating rod quickly raises the nozzle temperature to 392 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Doing this means the heat makes sure that the filament is smoothly dispersed from the nozzle whilst printing fast at 250 mm/s.

MORE AIR INPUT VOLUME
Thanks to the double-cooling system, a pair of fans push out up to 1.3x the air output volume at max speed. Helping to quickly cool down your prints, the cooling avoids stringing giving you a better 3D printing experience.

INTEGRATED DIE-CAST ALUMINIUM ALLOY
Increasing the weight of the base, and reducing the centre of gravity of the machine, the AnkerMake M5 has an integrated die-cast aluminium alloy structure and Z-Axis to achieve this. This design makes printing more stable for fast speed and turbo acceleration. This also means you'll r

POWERFUL PROCESSING

Packed with two processors, the AnkerMake M5 includes the XBurst CPU for intelligent 3D printing, whilst the Marlin CPU is for routine processing. Thanks to the extra power, the AnkerMake M5 keeps track of your prints making sure your model matches your design.

INTEGRATED INTELLIGENT CAMERA

The AnderMake M5 has an integrated intelligent camera, which allows it to use an AI recognition system that analyses the 3D data of the model before printing begins, utilising the XBurst CPU to continually check and compare throughout the printing process. Live monitoring lets you keep track of the progression of your prints anywhere, anytime thanks to the AnkerMake App. With the camera, you can record Timelapse videos, with 1080p full HD resolution and real-time monitoring of up to 720p, and with one-click sharing, you can share your time-lapses across your social media and with your friends.

EASY ASSEMBLY
You don’t need to be an engineer to assemble the AnkerMake M5, within just 15 minutes from the time of arrival you can be ready to start your 3D printing adventure. Just take out the content of the box, fasten the base at the bottom, connect and print away.

I have one of these. I've never 3D printed before and I really like it.

The build is solid, feels really well made. I've probably printed about a dozen or so things and only really had issues with one of them. It's very quick, but some of the speed does mean a sacrifice in finishing. I found that a few prints were a little rough around the edges.

Software works and does what it needs to. I'm working through and understanding what all the settings are. I think the Prusa software (or at least the one in Alpha) now supports this printer too which is great if you want some choice with slicer software.

    Happy to answer any questions

I also have this printer and am also happy to answer questions about it. I've had it since December and printed a heck of a lot on it, it was my first foray into 3D printing and I chose this printer based off of the "It just works" appeal and it has for the most part lived up to that. I got great quality prints out of the box with no tweaking or messing about.

However, all 3D printers come with some element of maintenance and to get the most from them, you will end up having to learn some fundementals like bed levelling, first layer adhesion, how different materials print under different temperatures, what infill is, supports and a bunch of other stuff. None of it is hard, but it is a learning experience and I'm glad I started with this printer because it made that learning experience far easier.

Now I have a decent amount of knowledge of 3D printing. If I was buying a new printer today at around this price point, I probably would go for something like the Bambulab P1P - however, that's only because of all the knowledge I have now accumulated. From what I understand, the P1P is a technically superior printer but it's a lot more finnicky and requires a bit more handholding to get the most out of it, i.e. maybe not the most ideal first 3D printer for many.

So I'd say if you've never owned a 3D printer before, the M5 is a great choice for your first. If you're experienced with 3D printing, you'll probably scoff at the price for what you get.

Oh and one more thing - it's LOUD. It's not something you'll want to be in the same room as when it's running.

Good price in theory, but you're awfully close to getting a Bambu P1P at this price bracket, and it's likely that's gonna be a better choice for most.

Yeah. I just watched the Makers Muse review. Seems nice but not up to the hype....especially where 5x speed is concerned

I don't understand why these are even a thing. Surely it's better if a business buys a really good top end 3D printer and then let's you use it on a PAYG or by order online than everyone having one in their home for the limited use point. However when I checked companies wanted extortionate amounts to print basic things like a cover for a clip on a car that someone was selling for £1 each they wanted £6. How easy is it to create something from scratch I take it you need a 3D modelling background and knowledge. I'll therefore need to rely on downloading templates that are online.

At £600 it isn't cheap enough to take a punt on as chances are I'll never find anything to use it for

It's not actually that hard to learn, depending on what it is you want to do. Check out tinkercad.com/, it's free and guides you through how to use CAD software. Different software works in different ways but fundamentally they're all similar and Tinkercad itself is powerful enough to make a lot of basic 3D stuff.

That said, the "templates" you refer to are numerous - usually they're called STL's after the most common format they come in and if you check out thingiverse.com/ or printables.com/ you'll see just how many there are.

Anyone got one of these and an Ender 3 V2 or S1?...how do they compare. Is the hype real?

If spending this amount of money either the Bambu labs P1P or the Creality K1

P1p keeps popping up with rave reviews. I've got a Frankenstein Ender 3 but I'm so bored of tinkering with it every time I want a print I'm considering an upgrade

that printer is no good at that price point, it's about the same price than a Prusa MK3s that is orders of magnitude better (edited)

You are saying the Prusa is better right?

    I got a Kickstarter Anker…and it’s been perfect, coming from an Ender 3 v2.

But….the quality control seems like an issue for some people with hit and miss results, hardware failures, stripped screws etc.

I wouldn’t buy one for full price but I’m happy at the Kickstarter price.

    It definitely prints fast!

I just sold my M5 amd bought 2 X1C instead ,, even I would go for P1P (with AMS rather V6 as I couldn't see how V6 going to work as well as AMS )or K1 for similar price.
    XY core is future ...
