Had a bunch of these at the office I look after and they are terrible if you want to use the networking features. Constant drop outs and you now need to register an account with hp to use the scanning features which is such a scam. I used to always spec HP how now I would avoid.

not bad deal for a3 printer, but official hp xl inks are £140

i would only ever look at getting tank printers now, slightly more to buy but far cheaper running costs.

will instant ink cover A3 printing?

Good printer I have it in my loft as it cost a fortune to replace the ink. I like it tho so couldn't bear to throw it out.

Was about to buy this printer but thankfully read the comments.
Had this been on instant ink I would have definitely gone for it.
I am after an A3 printer, any advice please?

My advice would be to try and find an Eco tank printer, they are available in A3, but with the ecotanks (or similar manufacturer branded ecotank designs), you add your ink from a bottle directly into the machine's tank.
These printers are a higher initial cost for the printer, but incredibly cheap to use especially if you intend on doing a large volume of printing, and as an added bonus you can use third party inks and are not tied to the manufacturer for costly cartridges, (which are usually only partly filled anyway).
I myself use an A4 ecotank printer that I got reconditioned at a reasonable price, and have no trouble with, (so far).
Mine was an Epson ecotank, but other manufactures use different names for bottle filled units. (edited)

HP now have restricted 3rd party ink cartridges, there is a work around this such as not allowing automatic update software for the printer. I am not sure if it is fully restricted on the new HP printer models but keep this in mind. HP clearly want to stop people buying the cheaper ink cartridges.

When I print now I turn off WiFi so that the printer can’t try and update its software and block third party inks.
Fortunately, I only print from my desktop which is close enough to use USB.

Bought the 7720 for about £7 (after cashback) a year or so ago..... It's ok for printing, but it is huge! It is also a pain with it updating the firmware without your knowledge so that you have to use HP branded cartridges.... It's then a chore to downgrade the firmware so that the cartridges you already have in it will work again.

Yeah, not enough impulsive suckers went for it. Me included.

    Please avoid HP!
They block third party ink and force you to have ink just to use the scanner.
