Apple Silicon has really changed the game with laptops, the performance and efficiency of the SoCs are so impressive. Prior to the M1 chips, I just didn't see value in the line up (unless your workflow was dependant on MacOS), but now they're really competitive.

This clearly isn't for everyone, the base Air/Pro would be enough for most, but for those needing this type of power in a MacBook - it's a good saving. (edited)

Yeah I really liked mine, but I went back to Windows because developers just aren't working on Mac :/ I thought the uptake of these would be so fast, but it doesn't seemed to have moved the needle much at all. In fact I think development has stalled because people just want to stick to x86.

Surprised by that - I'm a developer and 95% of other developers I know work on Macs.

My Macbook Pro is 10 years old, I use it everyday and it's still as snappy as the day I bought it!

The only problem is recently my trackpad has started to go a bit weird (doesn't register right clicking sometimes).

I'll definitely be buying another one though when this finally dies

I'm also still using my 2013 Macbook Pro and has been virtually perfect over the 10 years (I've had to hard reboot it once). It has, this year, started to slow a little. I think I will stick with Mac too once this machine dies.

    This is incredible!

I understand based on the price you’ll get a lot of backlash in the comments.

Breaking Bad should use that frame instead of "Can you imagine life without Coca-Cola"?

How would everyone compare the screen quality on this versus the 16'' version? Is the colour gamut and refresh similar on both? When I'm shelling out 3 grand I might as well spend an extra 350 quid if the screen is better.

I already have a 1TB intel i9 and running out of space. So, need one with 2TB. Apple charge stupid prices for upgrading memory/storage

I want to run this for at least 3+ years.

You can pick up an intel with a big SSD for not much money, have a look at hoxton macs, though most come with US keyboards. Once you sell your current machine it'll probably only cost a few hundred dollars.

Ah damn, just realised it was 14 inch, still an absolute steal, it would pay itself off in weeks but I need a 16 incher!

Buy this is you can make more money from this than it costs (code, media, design, photography etc). Else not really worth the money really. You won’t notice the difference between this and an Air.
