I was seriously looking at this but too many issues...
4080 logically should be the 4070 (3070 successor) but nvidia got greedy and made this a £2500 laptop ON SALE. (£3200k normal price is too much, you could have a desktop and mid-range gaming-laptop for that)
    All plastic build
    runs HOT
    coil whine
Mini-Led Display - It comes with only 1024 dimming zones which is simply not enough for 16”. For comparison, MBP 16 comes with 2554 dimming zones (also not great, but at least something). I want OLED, I can't go back!

Its not all plastic the lid is aluminium also why people keep comparing desktop to laptops I dont understand, this calibre laptop cost 2/2.5k. The performance gap against the mbp 16 is huge see nanoreview.net/en/…r.2 (edited)

missing some more rgb lighting, would like to see something similar to phillips ambilight in future on gaming laptops but around the sides of the bezel instead of thr back of the lid (edited)

What use is that power if the gpu can’t load all the textures? 12gb is okay if the asking price was 1k, not 2.5k.

Don't think there's a game released at the moment that would even get close to using 12gb of gpu memory, especially at resolution were talking here.

How does this compare to the Legion 7i Pro that was ~2000 a month ago? (edited)

most were from education store or via perks at those prices as I remember 2/2.2k+

similar build quality/performance, here you can see the comparison nanoreview.net/en/…r.3 (edited)

I've spent the past couple of weeks trying to decide on a laptop. This price is pretty amazing. Through education, the cheapest I can get the Legion 7i Pro at the minute is about £2500 with no OS, RTX4080 / 13900hx and 512GB SSD.
