Great laptop - fabulous having the extra screen - sometimes I just use the extra space, other times the screen pad plus apps (available for many apps and also customisable to any apps that are not supported by default). but most of the time I am composing music and I put the mixer in the second screen:

Not the absolute latest specs - but very decent and hey - that's why the deal is probably as good! (edited)

The price is still too high for a laptop without a proper GPU

What is it then, a fake GPU? How do you think it outputs onto a display

I hear you but the fact is that most people wouldn't even stress a 6th gen Intel i5, let alone an 11th gen i7 nowadays. I loved it when a new generation chip really made a difference - those were the days :-) (edited)

This, looks awesome. I wish I could afford this but I might recommend this to someone.

I thought this was a gimmick then had one come through at work - I have to admit, as much as I don't like ASUS engineering, this is a really great productivity system and the dual displays work well. It is a shame that it costs so much and in this case is stuck on 11th gen without a proper GPU (the one 10th gen one before could have an MX250). Great system if you need dual displays without the grief but it's still very expensive for what's now an older machine, the i7-1195G7 is fast, but it's still 'just a quad-core' at the end of the day.

The truth is nobody needs the latest in processing power any more - its really just semantics and marketing that are keeping the latest "must have this" syndrome alive (and I speak as someone who has been a victim of this in my past)

After about 7 years of cpu they slow down, I'd say even 6 from own experience and need replacing. Let's take 7 and I divide the cost by how many years left on the cpu to see which one works out cheaper. So take this one at £823. Has 5 years left on cpu. So I'd divide by 5 = £164.6 to use a year. So now you can see if getting the latest gen might be cheaper, you can do same calculations for different laptops or see it as you have £164.6 x2 to spend on top of this £823 to get latest gen and as a bonus better spec one that will give you 7 years in theory.
