So is the redmi note 12 pro better than 13 pro? Looking for a phone for my lad, but he wants one with a camera that creates somewhat oversaturated colours for social media...a bit like what Samsung, Google or iPhone do. Is this any good for them?

most Xiaomi phones deliver fairly natural colours, that's their sense of esthetics.

You can easily make them looking like Samsung/iPhone's (assuming the sensor picked enough) by editing the photo in gallery and adding contrast, saturation, warmth and vibrancy.

Seems like a faulty one, Xiaomi's are known for this inconsistency especially on the lower spec models - remember the Redmi Note 10 Pro? Most people had no issues, while some reported many.
What phone camera are you comparing it to btw? This is arguably one of the best cameras on a phone up to £250.

Prefect, have been after a sub-200 phone to replace my ageing Note 10 Pro so went for the 12 Pro. With this, a £5 nectar voucher I had, and an additional 2% cashback using TCB and Chase, it brought it down to just over £151, which for a good quality 5G dual SIM smart phone, I'm pretty chuffed with!

Both wife and I have 10 5g generally happy with the phone with 1 exception. The camara. It's fine in bright daylight without using zoom. But as soon as you have low light and zoom of any sorts the photos are absolutely crap.... Looking to change purely on this basis. Anyone got an honest view on the 12pro 5g camera quality using zoom and in low light.
