Probably the wrong thread for you then

i also have the 2350DW but is sounds like the later model has moved away from compatible toners which is a shame...good price as well but will soon be wiped out by the toner cost...especially if a heavy user

this model uses TN2510 TN2510XL which is not same with tn2410 and tn2420

    expensive toners

Never had an issue using other toners. Maybe you're thinking of the ripoff HP printers.

I have used compatible toners from eBay with my Brother printer (HL-L2350DW) and all works as it should.

Bought this yesterday just after 4pm and it arrived around lunchtime today - very impressed with Viking. The printer was easy enough to set up and I like the fact that the paper is hidden in the tray, not sticking out the top like my old inkjet.

Worth noting that Viking also have a “Free gift shop” on their homepage, where you can add nectar points (250 extra points for this as it’s over £75) or other items.

More and more compatible toners are coming on the market as it's a relatively new model. I have this machine and wondered why I used inkjet all my life. It's a dream to use
    KevinMcComps's avatar
Inkjet is a complete con for most users with basic printing needs.

Good price and hot. With regards to the TCB info in the description, it is worth a try. However, 2 months ago, when I purchased my printer, TCB was declined by Viking because I used their first order discount code.

Great printers - however one thing to note is that the wireless cards emit a slight high pitched tone.

I've tried 2 of them and they had the same issue. In the end I returned them and went for the upgraded model on Amazon for around £120-140 which had the automatic document feeder and scanner - but it also still had the same issue! I just had to live with it.

Other than that, they're rock solid.

Can you advise which is the model number you went for and if you are satisfied with its printing and scanning performance.
    Thanks.

    Does it have duplex?
I thought that DW stands for D(uplex), (W)ireless, but website gives no information.
    koolpubba's avatar
    It says Double-Sided PrintingManual...
  11. ggeessbb's avatar
For an occasional user, is this worth the extra over the HL-1110 for around £67?
    Thanks.
    sheffield788's avatar
It depends if you need WiFi and if you need double-sided. This one is bulkier in comparison with yours. I purchased the 1210w model because I need wifi and also because the printer has the same dimensions as yours. (edited)

I have this printer, it's very good, fast and works directly from my iPad (which some don't). One of the big pros is it's standalone wifi compatible. So you don't have to have it tethered to a PC that's always on. In fact you don't need another machine at all, if you're a household that only uses phones and tablets.

I paid £25 for a backup toner. Not cheap, but we only occasionally use a printer. Which is the main reason we ended up with this, since every inkjet we've owned gums up (print head dries out) after a few weeks and then needs new cartridges. One of these just doesn't gum up....however long you don't use it. (edited)

Does it have Ethernet at the back ? Ie can I use it networked in my small office ?

OOS but bought one for £81.59 and hopefully they get stock in about 8 days.
20% off code is for business customers only. VGB-RP20UK05 return period is 30 days. if you want a longer return period they seems to want to charge you about £4. by default it added that to my basket so had to remove it. (edited)

Brother printers are solid, I brought a HL-2070N 20 year's ago £40 and still running the same toner and I've printed a lot over that time and currently use it to print postage labels and print is just as black as when I first got it.

Thanks for this! I was on the hunt for a laser printer with a budget of £100 in mind (occasional use at most), I felt like WiFi and double sided printed should fall within that bracket but unless I was willing to go with HP (seem to have a lot of negativity around them) it was £130 through Curry's. Between this deal and the Nectar points it's come through just over £80 (hopefully TCB will come through, but I doubt it).

I bought the HL-2400DWE the other day for £120. I needed it for a job, so I'm only a *bit* gutted at this price.

Buy this deal and 'return' it to them? Not like they'll notice the difference in model or care at that point

For £14 more you can get the next version of this with actual duplex printing
    DealBandit1's avatar
What do you mean by actual duplex printing? Are you referring to the L2445?
  27. ggeessbb's avatar
I only print and scan occasionally.
A compact laser printer and scanner would suit me but laser printers with scanners seem to be quite large and with extra costly features I don't need.
    jynxy2's avatar
I find the adobe scan app on my phone excellent

Any updates on delivery ,when I contacted them last they said stock expected on 30th
  30. ssb6422's avatar
They must pluck the dates out of the air, my latest promise is 24th June.

The third date they have given, I said I have no confidence in the dates you give, you can't even see tracking numbers from your supplier.

The attitude is, cancel if you want.

I will wait for the June date and cancel if it does not materialise.
