I needed a new battery for my Volvo XC90, Volvo wanted £165 for a Volvo branded battery (3-year warranty). After shopping around, Costco (I have membership) was the cheapest (£101.98) for this Bosch battery suitable for the car. It was in stock at my local store.
Eurocarparts wanted £134.74 (including their current 45% off code!) for this Bosch battery

    Hi,

    I too have Costco membership but could not get to my nearest store due to dead battery - Tayna are out of stock but have this identical Bosch (S4 013) battery under the Varta brand & I got it for £88 delivered next day.

    Hope that helps if anyone is stuck !

    Welcome to the start of a whole load of misery! Check also for a dead battery in the alarm unit located in the front off side wheel arch and problems starting in cold weather (lower than 8 degrees Celcius) which you think might be glow plugs but ends up being low pressure in the fuel injection system

    That's the joy with my D5, anyway. Hopefully yours is petrol and faring slightly better. (edited)

    If you have a Start Stop vehicle them you may need a more expensive AGM battery.

    The s4013 019 battery is generally a false economy as the s5013 has a years extra warranty & is a far better battery.

    However, it's also sold by Varta as the H3 Silver Dynamic, & Tayna are about the same price as Costco for the lower spec battery.

    There's normally a £5/5% discount code for Tayna too.

    Worth adding none of these are start stop. (edited)

    last time I checked - I didnt think any of the Bosch costco batteries were suitable for stop/start cars...can anyone confirm?

    Yes...or EFB...which none of these particular models at Costco are.

    Bosch seem to do an an EFB range but the model numbers are subtlely different...eg S4E05... Stick to Tanya I'd say.
