I looked at a lot of external SSDs on Prime Day and I was very tempted by this drive. However there were lots of reviews that said it got extremely hot which put me off. Ended up buying another Samsung T7 in the end - got the 1Tb one for £46 using a voucher.

I wouldn't worry a good metal case will get hot since it's the heatsink transfering heat away from the drive.

has anyone disassembled the external storage? it think this is a revised version, where the nvme ssd is soldiered onto the pcb.

if this has a removable ssd then i will happily buy two.
