I bought this initially to record video off a GH6 camera and it can’t sustain write speeds above 200-300mbps video bitrates. Samsung shield however can do 600mbps bitrate recordings perfectly. I know it’s a specialised use case but thought I share anyways . But for general use it’s a decent drive. (edited)

It's an absolute bargain, but Samsung cashback may kill this deal. Hot! (edited)

I have a load of older drives, does anyone know the lifespan of something like this? as looking to transfer to SSD as i'm sure safer long term against damage of data of backups?

Also anyone know if you can password protect these?
