I have this drive and it’s great. I never notice any slow down for general use including gaming. I bought it on the recommendation from an online review group test in which it came top in many areas. A good buy, especially at this price which is about £25 less than I paid for it

In the market for one, but think speeds would be a lot better buying a pice gen 4 and a caddy, and still end up cheaper?

Even Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 have less bandwidth than PCIe 3.0, so PCIe 4.0 is generally pointless for enclosures.

Make sure you price for a decent enclosure as the cheaper ones don't necessarily cool well enough, which can lead to thermal throttling.

Of course, you do need USB ports that are fast enough to take advantage of potentially more bandwidth also.
