From our experience this stuff is rubbish and fails to last a few months.

I have to disagree. My fences still look great after 7 years. I did coat them twice though.

If you are looking for a natural rich brown then The Harvest Brown is good BUT NOT the Harvest Gold which i used first and found it sickly. Always remember to remove any dirt or green Algae first , i use a pressure washer then allow it to dry. If you dont prep froperly it will look patchy.

I made the same harvest gold mistake and wow that’s actual ginger paint.

in fairness none of their colours resemble the colour on the can but harvest gold is something else

Can this be used for a wooden outside door?

I'd only use on rough sawn timber, it washes off planed

Hi. Thanks. ordered silver copse and,as suggested by someone, Harvest Brown. I got 10% off somehow so £9 each. By the way, ordered 9L midnight blue on OnBuy for £20.38. Free delivery. (edited)

Any fence paint now a days only last 1-2 years at the most. None of them as good as years ago for lasting.

Done mine in Silver Corpse, applied 2 coats and it came out great. Has only lasted 2 years though bearing in mind it’s says up to 5 years not guaranteed for 5 years. This is a good price even better if you have TradePro making it £9.

Hi. Same for us. A loveky colour, needs 2 coats. But need to repaint every other year.

pity you cannot get creosote anymore, stunk..but lasted on fence panels.
    Dona3853's avatar
Yep. Proper creosote and used engine oil 50/50 mix. Would last for years!

Thanks for this, finally been able to get hold of some Rich Cedar! I chose the wrong colour here - seems to be the only one not available in 5L and hardly ever on offer in the smaller ones. Oh well!

Thanks for this, Was just about to go and get 4 tins for £12 each at B&M so this has saved me £8

good old days of used engine oil on the fence....lasted longer than the fence

This is rubbish. Peals off after 2 years. It's water based emulsion which sits on the surface. Much better to invest in solvent based stains, which last 10 times longer.

Ah the old '1 year' ducksback deal ....becoming quite the ukhotdeals favourite

    Is this sprayable?
    aaqeel's avatar
Yes i have tried. Best to thin it down by adding 20% to 30% water rstio so sprayer nozzle doesn't get clogged.
  16. ejz's avatar
Painted last year fence panels. Defo need 2x coats specially with spray. But so far is good.
  17. rfclee1988's avatar
Bought this last year and it was shocking. Read they have changed the ingredients and it's crap now.
  18. ashyt16turbo's avatar
How can opinions go from fab to absolute rubbish?
  19. joshf's avatar
For anyone about to buy Autumn Gold, I warn you it's actually orange in colour.
  20. james.grainger's avatar
Only use this on rough sawn timber.
