The EX100 is the most efficient portable aircon sold in the UK bar none. Rated A++, it consumes just 630 Watts to cool 10000 BTU even when its 35 degrees outside. Leagues above the no name Chinese landfill rubbish often seen, this Delonghi has never been sold at this price before.

Recommend exhaust hose insulation to further improve efficiency, performance and reduce noise a tad on any portable aircon. Worth keeping this one handy for next summer.

These are the best on the market portable ACs, worth the initial outlay. Not quiet though, perhaps a few dB quieter than others, but certainly more efficient so saves you a bit of money on the electricity in the long run. I had a Chinese no-name that caught fire for no apparent reason too, so would never buy a cheap AC again.

many of De'Longhi's products are now imported from China

Exact one I have! It's great but loud. Cools my office in a matter of minutes

    These are not silent.

They aren't as loud as some comparable models, but silent isn't a word that should have ever been used to describe this machine. I wouldn't even call it (or any portable AC I have experienced) quiet.

Agreed. It's as loud as an old school window aircon. Really a split AC is the one to go for if you need a really quiet system.

depends on your budget.but Delonghi is a decent brand thus more expensive and better built than the no name Chinese ones. (edited)

what happens to the condensed water from the air on these devices

what happens to the moisture that is removed from the air in dehumidifier mode? Were does the condensed water go? (edited)

What would have gone wrong with this to require it to be refurbished? Thanks in advance.

Someone has obviously returned it. They can't sell it as new anymore so it's refurbished. These Delonghis don't go wrong.
