sorted byI feel a bit suspicious about the site. Company registered in June this year. Registered address is a flat in Peckham. Director is a 23yo. Great price if it's real but a no from me.

Genuinely curious, what is it about the new laws that made you sell? I've got the mini and although it didn't need registering by itself, because I attach add-ons, I had to register it as they take it over the 250g threshold. The registration is £9 per year which seems reasonable. People are also required to pass a theory test which is good because there are already too many nutters out there with no idea how to fly it safely in the vicinity of others so I'm all for these laws.
Pretty much the same as now but instead of 50m from people it will be 150m which will start dec 2020 but there will be another 2 years after that for the trans period meaning for it to take effect which trust me by that time you would have moved on to the newer models so nothing to worry about (edited)
Could be Del Boy junior, Damien Trotter trading from his flat in Peckham.. (edited)
A complete scam website DO NOT USE .
Takes your money and you don’t hear from them again. Using 4 addresses which are all houses.
A disgrace they are getting away with it. Have reported and also gone back to bank for chargeback .
what could go wrong
Exactly, i bought a mavic air 2 a couple months ago, got the pilot ID as well, but read up about the new laws and just sold it while it still has value
Free
I went instore, they had to order it in but honoured the price (edited)
The laws will affect anyone who has a Mavic Air 2 as it isn't CE marked and will not be categorised properly. The drone will become almost useless unless you like standing in the middle of empty fields.
And congrats on breaking law #1 of drone flight: Keeping visual line of sight at all times.
After December 2020 you can get fined for flying anywhere but an open field (150m away from people) unless you get an pfco license. Any drones without the certification (i.e. drones made before december 2020 that do not have the required certification) will be known as legacy drones.
That's not a hyperlapse, turns out the video was 4K 30fps... I thought it was 120fps as that's what I wanted but nope. The rest of the footage was just boring sheet lightning so I was really happy with that strike I caught.
Davinci Resolve which is free. I've been prompted to pay only after using the serious transitions a fair few times, and just clicked 'no'. Still works.
I use iMovie free and simple and easy to use try that out
Not buying here, using to price match
Maybe they were set up purely to pricematch for the Mavic Air 2??
At NO point did anyone here suggest you buy from Whitswatehouse (edited)
Currys price match any UK website. Did it instore yesterday with no hass
I'd love one but waste of time buying one with these new laws coming in.
Does the mini fall under the same laws?
But you are only using them to get Currys to price match, not buying anything from Whits
Fair enough. Through webchat?
For a professional then yes.
But would you be using one of these as a pro?
I bet there's people out there who even use the Mini and sell their edits. That in the eyes of the law makes them a 'pro' and thus they must be properly registered, licenced and insured.
And then there's the new laws which actually start making things easier in some aspects for people who wish to use a drone professionally, but the Mavic range of drones aren't categorised properly as soon as that CE mark becomes a requirement, so it's a step forwards and then two backwards.
Thanks I had a spoter with me deffo going to get it further soon, and being someone who uses it as a hobby I will still be able to fly like I do it won’t affect me at all.
This is correct but no one will know how close people are, just fly it and have fun if you can fly good then there will be no problems, been flying drones since the phantom so many many years not had one person say a thing to me! Like I said once it up in the air no one will know 👌
The mini is under 250g so I don't think it does. Will have to double check though.
Problem with the mini is it doesn’t use occusync which makes it terrible
who's your Spotter?? Superman?
For the price it's really not that bad, especially since you won't be flying it between obstacles, as long as you have a clear view of the drone and unobstructed connection, it is fine.
Yeah I know it will be ok, you can get fined for a lot of things nowadays but it never happens just enjoy your drone, tbh by the time the law comes into play which will be in about 2 years I would of moved on to the newer models
Have seen the signal drop with as little as 100-150m like useable
