I have these and my my issue is the delay between activity being detected and motion being recorded (despite homebase / cameras all being in close proximity to router and a 925mbps connection).

Event recording clips show someone at my door - having miraculously appeared, or recordings of people walking away from the house (as oppose to any recording of these people approaching it beforehand). This is even with the cameras set to ‘optimal surveillance’ in the app (at the expense of greater battery drain)

Plus adding indoor cameras/ setting them to record to the homebase 3 rather than their own internal SD cards is problematic.

Exact same behaviour here but I thought it might have been the internet. Glad I read this.
Ive had to put one of my cameras up near front of driveway just to act as a sensor for anyone coming, then use the automation feature to set all cameras to record when that detects motion. Still however the clips miss a lot. My next move was to buy some of the sensors and put them around, but it starts adding up pretty quickly if you have a large area to cover and still not guaranteed to get a full clip of whoever comes. Starting to regret not just getting a normal wired cctv system.
I guess if you wanted a camera in front of your front and back door to see people that would be a a few metres away max, these are flawless then and easy to set up.

If you can, always go with hardwired systems. Battery powered cameras are not recommended for use as security or surveillance

Been using eufy for 2 years and I’ve added 3 cams, video doorbel, door sensors, movement sensors etc, they still don’t make a siren other than the Homebase which you can just turn off at the wall to stop it.

I’d say Eufy is good, given what I know now with reliability long term, warranty, and general quirks (like sync button on cam) would i invest £500 in them. Nope. They feel like a great gadget, not something to rely on for home security.

some ppl will undoubtably be very happy with this system, it’s subscriptions free end of day.. (edited)

Ordered these and installed today. Used an old Samsung 860 Pro 500Gb. Added the dual cam doorbell as well.
All very clear, charging probably won't be "forever" in the due to weather and position but as long as it lasts 12 months I'm good

Had to return and re-order tho.
One of the cams came with the waterseal hanging out from the IR casing. Bit worrying QC

    Is this worth it?

The Homebase 3 has incredible AI detection and expandable storage. Eufy is updating the firmware of most old cameras to be compatible with it so that the range will be huge.  The CCTV batteries of the Gen 3 cams last for months, and some report that with the solar panels (included with these), they have not had to charge them since release.  The image quality is up there with the best; the App could be better, but not the worst, and always being updated.

It depends on how much value you place on the above.  The Gen 2 Eufy is decent and a lot cheaper - but for me, the improvements on the Gen 3 makes it a worthwhile investment.

Whats the return policy on them
    robocop999's avatar
Costco return policy is ridiculously good.

I had a ring floodlight...the LEDs burnt out (known fault apparently). I took it back 2 years after purchase and refunded no questions asked

I sold/moved all my battery cameras to places where it's not critical for security. Events trigger way too late in action and fast moving objects will be mid-frame or even leaving the frame when recording starts. Not sure if these offer "pre-recording", but wired ones do. (edited)

Tempted by these to replace the 2 ring floodlight cameras we currently have. The video quality of the ring are just not good enough to be useful. It can’t really make a persons face out or number plates - so if we did need then mom for anything important I’m not convinced they’d be useful

Mine are quite clear but the car would need to be close to read number plate in my experience (2c pro)
