It was discovered recently that EUFY totally lied about not sending data to the cloud, and it was accessible to pretty much anyone with a little tech knowhow.

Full story HERE if you're interested. (edited)

I saw someone say this had been fixed with the new hub. Do you know if that's true

People's experiences may vary but i really regret going for eufy on our house, cameras go offline randomly for no reason, sometimes can't connect to the cameras at all when out and if you have a doorbell too from eufy, good luck answering before the person walks away

tbh I had a ring doorbell before the eufy one and the experience was no better in that regard. Certainly I've never had a great experience having a conversation with a delivery driver via the doorbell of either system.

In addition the Ring really struggled with connecting to any wifi (even with it's own repeater) and rarely responded to doorbell pushes which is something the eufy doesn't seem to struggle with on its own network in my setup.

There's a lot of factors that impact how well any of these systems work which means a setup that works for one person may be rubbish for another. I guess that's the best thing with the Amazon returns policy that at least if it's a complete turkey at the outset you can send it back and try something else.
