Really satisfying to use but they do take a chunk out of your lawn. Also mine broke after couple of years light use but may have been unlucky

Similar experience. The plastic parts fatigue after a couple of years and warp or crack.

Every year this gets posted, and every year I have to comment - don't use this if you have foxes around. It leaves holes in your lawn and the foxes will dig them deeper looking for worms and beetles to eat. You should backfill the holes anyway with soil and grass seed but that won't stop foxes turning a little dent into a stripmine.

Work well so long as there aren't many stones in the way.
Had one for years and only just discovered that when you push it in over a weed you should twist it
10 or 20 degrees (use your foot to kick it round) BEFORE pulling the stick.
Suprised they don't suggest this already

I bought one of these when they were last on offer. It is now in pieces. Without thinking I was asking too much of it, the internal mating faces of the stainless jaws slipped alongside each other and it is now junk - unless I can drill through the stainless and use oversize washers as a guide to prevent it slipping in the future. Perhaps I just had a bad one but the design seems a bit flawed and I expected better from this brand. (edited)

Waste of money, takes big chunks out and will still leave roots behind so they will grow back. Fairly fun to use so treat it as a toy.

    chemicals are your friend.

I have one I no longer use. I have let the back garden go wild a bit for the bees and insects. When the dandelion show I let them flower so the bees have their nectar and when the seed heads come I pull them off and put them in a bucket of water. I won't mow the lawn for at least 2 to 3 months. . which also means less work for me and at times it can look really nice with all the flowers and grasses coming up.
