About this deal

Decent price for the older XF 56MM which is one of the sharpest Fujifilm lenses with excellent Bokeh. This has been replaced by the WR version which has weather resistance and faster AF but is nearly £1000.

Few peeps going on about sharpness. It’s not everything. I was a Fuji shooter several years ago. These old lenses are the best because of their character, bokeh and 3D pop.

I had the 23mm 1.4, 56mm 1.2, 16mm 1.4 and 35mm 1.4 (in order of favourite/most used). Yes in other ways they were/are dated in terms of stepping motors, stepping apertures, lack of weather resistance etc, but still I’d go back to those lenses (instead of the newer glass) all day long if I shot Fuji again.

This is a brilliant price for this 56 1.2.

I appreciate it's a little apples and oranges, with the Fuji being F1.2 (and arguably better build/supported) but is it honestly better value for money than the Sigma 56MM F1.4 (~£370) or the brand new TTartisan 56mm F1.8 (£160)? (used on a X-S10)
The Sigma gets glowing praise and some suggest is better than the 1st gen Fuji 56mm, and the TTartisan is probably too new for decent comparison? What are people's thoughts?

What got me with this lens was the sharpness. The AF and the fact its not WR are a bit lame (bit being kind) at this level. But my lord does it return a sharp image.
Ive never had lens that returns images like one of these. I rarely use it as its a bit weak for anything but portraits, but for portraits. F me is it impressive.

    Viltrox glass is amazing, 56mm 1.4 is £299 and 56 1.7 is £175.

I've got three Viltrox lenses (13mm 1.4, 56mm 1.4, and 85mm 1.8) on the Z mount, and they are impressive!

So tempted, this lens is on my wishlist. Secondhand they're going for about £350

Heat for price but have read the 50 f2.0 is sharper. A bit slower but fast enough
