Unleash your inner barista at home! Gaggia’s “New Classic” holds 80 years of history, tradition and experience. As Gaggia themselves state, “We dedicate it to all espresso lovers who want to relive the barista’s rituals at home day in and day out.

These rituals require attention to detail, precision and practice, of course—and our traditional group, solenoid valve, filter holder and professional steam wand allow you to achieve all of that. Stylishly designed and made from scratch in Italy.”

PROFESSIONAL CHROMED BRASS GROUP AND FILTER HOLDER
The heavy chromed brass group and filter holder ensure a consistent, perfectly stable temperature throughout the entire brewing process.

SOLENOID VALVE
The three-way solenoid valve relieves pressure in the filter holder immediately after pulling a shot. Water is emptied from the filter holder via the open valve and transferred to the drip tray. This leaves coffee pucks relatively dry, making the holder easy to clean.

POWERFUL PUMP
The 15-bar pump pushes hot water through the ground coffee at high pressure to ensure excellent espresso topped with a layer of delicious crema.

PROFESSIONAL STEAM WAND WITH TWO STEAM OUTLETS
Take advantage of the perfect way to froth milk and enjoy creamy cappuccinos at home, just as yummy as the ones you’d be served at an Italian café.

INTUITIVE USER INTERFACE
Thanks to traditional buttons and indicator lights, you’ll be in total control of all of the appliance’s functions.

EXQUISITE DESIGN DETAILS
The new design is meant to further enrich your home barista experience: the improved shape makes the water level visible, the drip tray results in more stability during the brewing process, while the iconic filter holder with Gaggia’s signature “G” makes your coffee rituals more aesthetically pleasing than ever before.

THREE FILTERS
The coffee machine comes with three filters: there’s one “Crema Perfetta” filter for 1 or 2 portions, as well as two traditional filters.

CUP HOLDER
This practical feature allows you to store your espresso cups and glasses on top of your espresso machine. Always have them within reach and store them conveniently without taking up too much space!

MADE IN ITALY
Made in Italy, this premium appliance guarantees the highest quality and tastiest espressos year after year.

Just to add you can get the stainless steel version for the same price directly from Gaggia using the discount code from Coffee Kev. Another option if people aren't a fan of the red It's been tempting me for a while...

Where can I get the code please

Had ours 9 years, great machine. Use the Gaggia descaler/cleaner quarterly. We have hard water so use bottled water. Also subscribed to Grindhouse coffee, Reunion blend think £12 delivered for 1kg.

That's incredibly cheap for roasted to order coffee! I've been into speciality coffee for years and never seen that price, thanks! Does it compare to the usual £8-12 250g price range for other roasters?

Good support from them too, the managing director Raj did a zoom call with me to resolve an issue with a bean to cup coffee machine from them, James Hoffman (coffee youtuber) used to work for him too (edited)

how many grams of coffee do people generally use with these…? 18 is ok in my Bambino but the portafilter with the gaggia is wider - cheers

It depends on your portafilter basket. You can get larger or smaller ones, pressured and unpressured, to suit your taste/coffee. I have an unpressured VST 20g and typically extract a double shot from 18.5-19g of coffee, aiming for approx 40g in my cup. You can read a bit more here javapresse.com/blo…pes

I've got the same model as this, albeit in the original steel rather than this red. If you look after this machine it will last years and years. All the internals are accessible and i the company will be more than happy to help you with repairs. I've had mine 4 years and have done some very minor upgrades (OPV and new silicone group head).

This machine probably represents the best price:quality ratio of anything on the market.

Quidco - 3% on machines and 7.5% on other items on coffee friend, I know its not guaranteed, but still worth having.

Gaggia Classics are absolutely awesome machines. I've had one for over 12 years.

They are fully serviceable and you can buy and replace every part in them. It's essentially the same internals as the bigger machines you see in coffee shops, but just a single with a water reservoir rather than being plumbed in to the water mains.

I can't recommend them enough. Think of it as a long term investment. (edited)

It sounds like a cracking machine.

I am just curious how loud it is?

I've got a De'longhi Magnifica bean to cup machine, which my partner complains is too noisy. I'm barred from having my espresso until everybody else is up.

It's not just the grinder that is loud, but the pump is also loud.

With this machine I'd pre-grind my beans. I like the idea of being more hands on with the coffee and adjusting things. From that side, I'm sold.

Would this machine be any quieter on dispensing? (Or are all coffee machines loud) (edited)
  12. 1silviu1's avatar
I don't find it loud, it can make some noise when foaming the milk.... please search on FB for Gaggia groups and you can find more information there...

This is the best reasonably price home espresso machine imo hands down. I have had mine since the late 00s very user serviceable, mine has never had issues just replacing things that get worn
