Lowest a 4070 has been so far I believe, includes Diablo 4 and free shipping. Mainly posting for that reason but I'm sure it'll spark a massive debate over the state of the GPU market etc

You can use TCB as well to get another £5.50 ish off the price.

20% better performance for over 30% more £££. No DLSS magic and useless VR performance.

About £100 more to go before these are a decent deal but prices are moving downwards slowly.

Doesn't help when Nvidia keep shifting the naming stacks.

Maxwell release had a mid-tier 970, a mid-high 980, the high end 980ti and the professional usage Titan card (which did cost silly money). The 960 then released on the lower end, great HTPC card.

Nowadays every card has a Ti variant, a variant with different amounts of vram and the 90's are essentially Titans. I've lost track with them what's what.

I mean, shifting naming around a bit is very normal as each gen will have different die sizes and yields and costs, determining what sort of chips and 'cut downs' are necessary to populate certain tiers.

The only problem is that Nvidia went to an extreme with the 40 series, bumping up certain sort of chips by like two tiers, and in most cases, effectively doubling prices over Ampere equivalents. And this was mostly all greed. Yes, costs had risen some and 5nm family process is more expensive, but nothing that can remotely justify the extent to which they exploited naming to jack up prices to an insane level.

Like, I've pointed this out so many times by now, but the 4070 at $600 wasn't simply a $100 increase on the 3070. It's much much worse than that. What they did was take a chip that was basically the Ampere equivalent of a *cut down* 3060 and then sell it for $600. And then they took the actual 3060 equivalent and named it a 4070Ti for $800, which is actually well more than an effective doubling of pricing. And then the 3070 equivalent was named a 4080 and priced at $1200, which again, is well more than a doubling of price.

    They lost their minds. (edited)

The amazon deal was better for the 4070ti. It keeps popping up randomly every other day.

Been loving my 4070ti ever since picking it up. and feels even better knowing I paid (discounted) 4070 prices for it 🔥
