    Hmm, so is it tied to the specific email of the account in question? If it is then it's not much use to previous Spotify subscribers, but if it isn't then it should def work (if a new email and card is used at sign up). A work around would always be to create a new Outlook account, get the 3 months free with that, and sign up to Spotify using that address

    Unfortunately the code they send you won’t except, I’ve contacted Microsoft and they blame Spotify and Spotify blame Microsoft, so I gave up

    Yeah, but you have to use Edge (very good, highly recommended) and use Bing (life sentence, avoid) for 3 days to qualify...
