Honestly, these are "decent" cameras I have 3. With one of them being outside for over 2 years now. No real issues
They do what I needed under an aware subscription BUT...
Google dragging their feet with any real software updates to the nest line means it lacks all the nest features that we should have had by now and that's a real shame. They've neglected the camera and doorbells technology and improvements.
If you really want these then look on eBay and buy second hand for half this price.
It's just not worth it and there are better higher res solutions out there. (edited)

Forget dragging their feet, Google are actually going backwards.
I've got a mix of new an old Nest cameras, the old ones works with the nest app and have more features. The new ones feel worse do to only being compatible with Google Home app.

Can't see how long the battery lasts and if these are motion detected?

Depends on usage. Example: my garden camera is set up
On battery for events with a time schedule on 11pm to 7am which probably doesn't get high traffic or motion. This has lasted about 4 months on a single charge
So you could half that if it was on all the time
It's really variable You can't do 24-hour recording on these without power I believe

Are these capable of 24/7 recording, if I buy the longer power cable?

Continuous video recording (up to 10 days of 24/7 video history) requires:

    1) Nest Cam to be used plugged in with a continuous power source (check out available accessories)
    2) A Nest Aware Plus subscription (sold separately)
