Watch out for getting your trade-in rejected. I sent my wife's P4a in as a trade-in for a 7a to ID (Part of Curry's), and it was rejected due to screen burn-in. Totally unnoticeable before we sent it in. I questioned it and was sent a photo of the screen showing a plain white display, and there was just a noticeable faint burn-in of the icons at the top of the screen, wifi, mobile signal, etc.

Great deal! I’ve got a cracked iPhone XR and this makes it faulty under the trade in conditions. Any idea if this still qualifies for the extra £75 bonus?

I think it does as it’s still eligible for trade in, but appreciate if anyone else has seen something that says otherwise I’ve missed!

I have sent a phone which is valued at £1 and they undervalued it by 50p still paid out the bonus including the 50p..

The trade in page is buggy at my end. Am I reading this right... If I trade in any working phone (I tend to keep old ones for trade in deals) I'll get whatever their base valuation is, plus the extra £75?
If so, that makes it a great deal!

100% correct yeah, trade in page I imagine will update around 8 - 9am

Sod's law, I bought this from Argos over the weekend and I've got a broken 4a lying around in a drawer which would get me £85 off! Anyone had any experience with returning phones to Argos which have been opened? Their returns policy seems to suggest that once the seals are broken on the box you can't return
    vassy4u's avatar
Hard to get it returned if there are no issues. Probably say poor signal / wifi keeps disconnecting / phone tends to heat up..

It's worth checking your bank card cashback offers as well. Virgin Money are currrently offering me 4% cashback when I use my debit card and spend over £100 at Currys.

I currently own a Pixel 6a and am wondering if there is much difference between the Pixel 6a and 7a? Has anyone made this upgrade and seen a big difference? (edited)

Not much of a jump really, 6a's a goodun

    Refused Nokia 3.4 in-store.

Went to Gallagher Retail in Wednesbury. Showed them trade in email and they processed it with no problems. Much bigger store plus the staff seem clued up (although their phone staff weren't interested, sent me to computing as they handle trade-ins). (edited)

Wouldn't accept either of my old phones and LG or A Motorola Moto. shame as it made it a good deal.
Anyone know the cheapest phone I buy to make the deal work?
    Tejas_Somaiya's avatar
You still get £75 for any of your phone I think. Still a good deal.
Just select model/make not in the list if your phone isn't listed in the drop down.

Managed to do this today, had an old Nokia Brick phone, did the trade in quote online for a quid to get the reference number and went to my local store in Rotherham. Initially they were a bit confused but eventually they worked it out and got £76 off and order has been placed to collect in store in a few days time

I have had a Pixel 7a for 6 months, great phone performance wise, and getting security updates for a good few years yet..., but too big and heavy for me to use as my main phone out and about, i still use my Pixel 5 as my main phone instead and keep the 7a at home as my broadband hotspot and secondary device.

(The weight is the really big issue for me 190 ish grams compared to 150 ish for the 5, the pockets really feel that difference... But seems thats about the norm these days) (edited)

You need to hit the gym. Even a gym for ants would help you to finally lift that extra 40 grams.

If I do it in-store then I presume I need to purchase and trade-in at the same time? I'd like a few hours to make sure everything is transferred across really.

    I wondered this too

Does the trade in phone need to be smartphone or can it be an old Nokia (non smartphone)?
    Yoshi123's avatar
I would love to know too, are you going to the shop to find out by any chance?

Good prices here for the latest Pixels if you can take advantage of the enhanced trade in offer ♨️

I'm going to get this and trade in my galaxy flip4.

The seam cracked and even though it was in warranty they won't fix it, charging me £340 for a new screen.

Trade in here for £24 plus the enhanced cashback, so aroundn£100 in total. Better than the kick in the nuts I got from Samsung but still feeling sorry for myself.

    Great deal!!!

Traded in an old Huawei P20 and got £125 off the Pixel 7a

    I'm getting £75 off bonus and £40 for a p20 pro.

How did you get that price? What was final price deal?
  23. TheCostOfLies's avatar
Some really poor base trade in offers.

On a pixel 8, the base trade in price for an S21 is £110 on Currys (£235 enhanced), but a straight £270 on Google.
    TheJMan's avatar
I got 240 base for my P6 to P7 less than a year ago at Currys and 100 enhanced on top!

Does this phone have decent battery life? Also how do I transfer the data before trade in? (edited)
    gagagaga's avatar
Bad in reviews, but there seems to have been some bug where if you turned it off when it got low, then turned back on after 10 mins it would suddenly have 60% again. Presume it's fixed now.
Data: to google etc. Think you can do the trade in after if online as they credit that to you in cash.
  26. Arsey01's avatar
Why is the 7a not an option for trade in?
  27. George_Lewis's avatar
My partner's 7a is arriving today, so will see what it's like!
Does anyone have any opinion on if this is a better choice than the Redmi note 13 pro (not plus)?
  28. kam1nsk1's avatar
Anyone know if there's any difference between how fussy they are in store vs posted? My iphone is in good working order but the proximity sensor seems to have died so the face id doesn't work
    vassy4u's avatar
better doing it in store. They don't check much other than physical appearance of the phone. When it's posted they probably have more time to check the device
  29. robjw_2001's avatar
£405 plus the bonus seems half decent for a Z Fold 4

I have an iphone 13 I've inheritied off my nephew except the muppet has forgotten the password to the bloody apple account and the mobile listed for reseting passwords doesnt exist anymore. Think they will take that as a trade in? It powers on and works otherwise
    lebdeals's avatar
Unfortunately not, you need to remove the Apple iCloud account before trading / selling it anywhere. Essentially a brick until you can log out of iCloud

'Only one gift card can be used to subsidise the transaction.'

Does this mean I can't use gift cards I currently have to purchase the phone?
    ryancurly's avatar
I don't think so, I think it's only one £75 card that they give you
  32. monkeez's avatar
    Am i right with this?
The trade in for my screen damaged 6a was £10...so it would be £85 trade in total?

I have a in store question It states "Trade-in value and additional discounted value issued on a Currys gift card in store, or via BACS transfer online"
So can you use the voucher imediately against the purchase or are you better off doing this online and getting cash back to the bank
    keefly's avatar
When I did this in-store with the Pixel 6a offer 15 months ago they simply took the very old phone off me & deducted the trade-in cash off the price of the new phone:

I absolutely love Google phones. Still using my 6a and it's more than enough phone, and I'm a techy guy too! Plays league of legends fine, great pics, fast and great camera. Only minor gripe is slow charging, but it's never really bothered me as I WFH. I want to upgrade one day (as most) but genuinely see this phone lasting a good 2 years or even more, don't really have a reason to upgrade.

I bought a 4a 5G in 2020, and when it stopped working (after I used it as a hammer) a few months ago, I just bought the same phone again!

Does anyone allow trade in of Realme phones?!
    keefly's avatar
    Yes, Currys.

My pixel 3xl has severe screen burn but functions fine, will my device be eligible to trade in? What do you guys think?
    Fuzzarr's avatar
In store or online? I traded a OnePlus 6 in store today with burn and a flickering lower third of the screen and it was accepted as not having any issues, 25 + 75 bonus. The chap sorting me out was very efficient and helpful.
  38. eamaxbiz's avatar
is it worth upgrading to 7a from galaxy s10?

£55 for S10, so £130 off, so give my S10 and £200 to upgrade to 7a?
    Khairul's avatar
Depends. Do you feel frustrated with your S10? You're not getting any more updates on the S10 so if you're not into tinkering around with the software to install a different OS then you'll need to upgrade the phone itself.

If you think the performance is fine and you're content with not getting any more official updates then S10 is better.

I believe the Pixel 7a OLED screen uses PWM (Pulse width monitoring) for dimming the screen which can cause eye fatigue/ sensitivity due to the perceived flickering. Anyone had any issues with this? (edited)
    XiaofengXiaofeng_Xiaofeng's avatar
All oled do but good brands use higher PWM figures. Google don't. Anyway no point asking others, obviously people do have PWM issues but it is entirely relevant to you and you only.

This is sooo tempting... My wife has the pxl 6 and is really good. I run a Honor View 20 which is working fine but doesnt have 5G or VoLte so gonna be a pain in a couple of years... I could trade my old galaxy s6 for 18+75 for the 7a
