so, to be clear, this doesnt match the lighting on your TV in any way. Its simply an app/alexa controllable strip light ?

Yes - you can manually control the colours, but to match the lighting/colours on the TV you need one of the models which come with a camera.

No reason why not. All you would need to do is adjust it at the corners where there's no lights. i.e. Stick the excess tape to itself or a loop as it were. See the last image of deal pics (not description images) to see what I mean.
