a little off topic but anyway. I remember seeing a very informative post by you where you explained that Glutamine is used as cheap filler and effectively useless. I'm starting the gym again and was wondering what protein powder is the best bang for my buck?

I can only go by the powders that I've tried and I always go for a combination of value for money and taste so don't buy the really expensive big brand powders as the value just isn't there for me........bearing this in mind, I would recommend PBN whey protein from Amazon that comes in around £16 per kg and if you have a minimum of 5 items on 'subscribe and save' you get 15% off. Taste is decent in all the flavours and price is okay considering how expensive everything is nowadays with spiralling inflation.

An even bigger personal recommendation is 'fruity clear whey isolate' from Bodybuilding Warehouse, which is absolutely delicious in sour apple, fruit punch and pineapple flavours (raspberry not so much). If you're unfamiliar with clear whey isolate, you dilute it with water and it makes a fruit flavoured squash. I like it so much that I don't use regular whey protein any more. Just one thing to note........ only buy it when they have the offer on their website of 'spend £75 get 40% off own brands' (see pic below).
50503815_1.jpgAll you have to do is dilute to taste. Personally, I don't use the scoop provided and instead use one of my large 70ml protein scoops and mix it with a litre of water, which gives me the perfect taste of not too sweet and not too weak. I have it pre and post workout and with my meals, absolutely love it!!

PS. bought the raspberry for my nephew who likes it but it's the only flavour I don't like. Sour apple is my favourite, absolutely delicious 😋😋😋 (edited)

Unless I’m missing something when adding postage most flavours cheaper with Amazon S&S even with the 20% discount? (edited)

Very Informative as always and I will definitely be ordering. I think I remember you saying aswell avoid soy protein and glutamine?

Also in regards to creatine are they all made pretty much equally or is there anything to avoid with them?

Soy protein is not as effective as whey protein for building muscle and is also cheaper to produce so you want to avoid protein powders that include it as part of a mix, same as glutamine which is used as a cheap filler. As for creatine, the cheapest form (creatine monohydrate) is the best so pointless paying more for any other type.
