Blown away by this deal!!!
Why is it only homebase I feel offer great deals nowadays... (y)
Are these any good?
Just been there. None left. I wanted only one.
Soooo much better off with a 'normal' rechargeable bluetooth speaker. This would be worth considering if it had mains power + the option to charge a One+ battery.
It's not very authentic, I mean where's all the paint and dirt?
Good idea. But get an adapter for a different brand radio!
Thanks Waldolf Saved me some wasted time and money Was going to use with a DeWalt battery adapter.....
I made a 40 mile round trip to pick one up from the nearest HB with stock, but I should not have bothered. OK it's about £50 less than elsewhere, but it was never worth that much in the first place. The sound is crap, not bassy but boomy - even when adjusting the bass and treble. You need the speakers pointing right at you and be in line with them, as if you are a bit off-centre from them you get booms not tunes. It actually sounds better if you lay the unit on its back on the floor with the speakers pointing upwards. And a normal batter sticks right out the back - crap design. The way the presets work is crap as you need to cycle through them, and if you miss the one you want you cycle through them, and if you miss the one you want ..... Reception on FM is crap, need to be in a good open space and hanging on to the ariel ! No option for mains power like the US (and Euro?) versions, the plug socket is blanked off. I have the old blue Ryobi radio, and that sounds better albeit with not much bass, but still clearer. Don't trust any YouTube reviews on this - which don't actually seem to be reviews (annoyed)
I work in schools, cable ties are brilliant for doing what their name suggests. I've already used 700 odd in the last 4 months making sure IT equipment isn't a health and safety risk to children and adults. Also makes things look much better, an added bonus!
Don't drive, buy food or drink since they're transported by populated trucks from populating factories, vehicles are usually use a lot of Plastics, think of all those micro particles You stop driving too, using cellphones, computers, TV's, game consoles, in fact don't use electricity at all because oil used for electricity, Oil dumps have also been known to populate waters No more showers because theyre made from plastic and they may leave microplastics particles in the ocean and let's not forget how much population water treatment/supply facilities does
I don't buy single use cable ties. These have the little snib you mentioned. Forgot to mention that I am very unlikely to use 1000 ties, but I have three other household with family and will share these with them as needed . I assume others will do the same or even sell them for a significant profit at say a boot sale.
Wire ties or wax covered string was used to wrap cables. more time consuming to use but when there were apprentices it didn't matter i suppose. Modern telecoms and IT sometimes use velcro wraps now as they're more forgiving on fibre optic cables and reusable. For outdoors though you need decent UV cable ties.
Who needs 1000? 1000 pieces of single use plastic? In one pack and there were 20 more. Wow. Might as well just go and attach it directly to a marine animal. There are re-usable ones with a little snib you can buy - a 'cable-tie for life' if you will, although any of these things will still take thousands of years to degrade and even then will leave micro-plastic particles. What did we used to use before these? :( (Not voted btw.)
If only dewalt or Milwaukee did one at a similar price 😩. Great price for a popular brand.
No. You can buy them in a bundle on Amazon. IMO ryobi batteries are generally the cheaper out of the main brands.
Does this come with a battery and charger? If not, are they expensive?
Great find, not that price online HOT
I saw grey in this wonder If that was on offer ?
Unfortunately not at Rotherham store. I even took the item to the till to be scanned and was 11.99 😔 Good luck with other stores though
It's national & on the website.
Rotherham scans at 11.99. This appears local deal only
Heat added , already been posted , I got two sets of pillar taps £5 each pair, and a blue t&g loo seat for £3.50 , and a mk 10 way split load , consumer unit ,£80 reduced to £20 , yesterday , :)
I bought into the One+ range many many years ago... the actual power tools are great. I would never dream of wasting my precious batteries in a light, fan, radio or any other pointless items Ryobi put in the range.
As a light, this is really good. Keep with your kit for winter working or jobs in those dark corners. Look for a tripod too to attach this to, as you need it at a position where you are not blinded. I get about 3 1/2 hours from a 4 ah battery.
The light is only worth buying if you already have Ryobi kit. If you just want a rechargeable light, look elsewhere.
Expensive. The light is a fair price if you have bought in to the one+ system though.
U cant ask those kinda questions hehe.... arm and a leg
Good luck finding it, even when it shows in stock sometimes it’s not available...
Adapters are available
Will it fit Nilfisk pressure washer hmm?
OOS everywhere near Birmingham
The brush looks a bit phallic and contains the word rim. It's a yes from me. (highfive)
Handy wee tool
For a load of flat pack furniture? It would slow me down way too much to do it all by hand. Best to own both (plus a decent hammer drill for masonary). Most cutlery draws include both spoons and forks, not just sporks ;) .
I'd use a screwdriver for that bit, then use the drill for various other things around the home.
Speaking as someone who has recently put together a lot (!) of flat pack Ikea furniture and put up quite a few shelves, good luck getting a cheap 10.8V drill into the tight spaces one of these can get into. Also, good luck screwing stuff in that's really close to the wall with a drill - you can't get it level because the chuck gets in the way or, even worse, chews into the wall. Also, cheap 10.8v drills don't always have the nice high torque / low speed that these offer and I prefer control rather than my screw heads being chewed to bits and screws being over-tightened. I own one of these as well as a snide one (B&Q / Macallister), personally I prefer the Macallister as it's charge seems to last longer but they are both very handy pieces of kit that have already lasted years and this is a decent price (assuming you can get one).
Thanks OP Apur32 for posting!
Does anyone know about the quality of these tools? I had a Draper set from an Amazon sales, but the Phillips stripped easily…
Agreed, although that's mostly because he loses the bits faster than he replenishes them (pirate)
Indeed I have, cleared out both local stores and already onto Ebay.
so...basically....some greedy git is going to buy a boat load of these and these resell them for a profit.....
Brass ones reduced in mine, chrome still full price.
I’m very interested too as I’m a locksmith and I can’t get these locks anywhere near this price wholesale.
What would be better but of a similar price point in your opinion? Genuine question.
Granted not the best you can buy but very good for the price and a lot better than some people already have also Yale is still a good brand owned by Assa Abloy a lot better than the like of era which retail around the same price.
Not very good locks
Just collected mine. Paid £5. It's got 0.5W and it's got a light sensor. Thanks op
I thought it is a urinal.
So...what's the wattage on this? Reserved them but not a lot of info on website
I have these, they work fine but they are the whitest of the cold white spectrum. It feels like it turns your bedroom into a frozen food factory!
They stay on all night
Proving expensive... now I’ve got the batteries I couldn’t resist getting this: Makita DHS680Z 18V LXT Brushless Circular Saw - Skin for £125.30 again from Homebase. Lucky I did the reserve and collect as they tried to charge me £152 in store, which is the reduced price on the shelves.
Exactly. Either way you’re going to end up with quality tools
Yeah, and I totally get that. Brushless on a combi drill is well worth having. A lot of this is horses for courses, right. You can’t really go wrong with Makita LXT stuff.
I looked at this... great spec - but I decided to opt for brushless.
While I’m not convinced I agree that this kit will lack power for the average user, I did come across this: https://www.toolstation.com/makita-dlx2131jx1-18v-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill-impact-driver-twin-pack/p94935?store=S1&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpavpBRDQARIsAPfTwix9KAH1UkjYzDcdsEcI2Vh8UY0Re8XQq_5m4nLUpBN2mgNQg_lI0qMaAhp4EALw_wcB Three (smaller) batteries, but the slightly higher spec bodies.
Knockers quite cheap but no matching pairs 🥁
I haven’t seen this low price!
Went today!!! The door handles all scanning as £0.75p each. I have a shop so bought nearly 80
How much for a pair of knockers?
Bit wobbly but got about 10 tins of paint on one
Looked really flimsy and cheap in Homebase today
I bought two of these to build one multi-shelved unit for all my computer equipment, works a treat.
Thanks, that’s confirmation if there ever is one (lol)
I have one in a green house with the shelves on upside down so they are more like trays to better keep in water for the plants. Not water tight but helps when watering. All good so far rustwise a year later. I would think in a just damp garage no problem.
It's called Shoes
I was going to post this as I saw them in my local Homebase when I was collecting another Hotdealsuk bargain I had reserved. I wanted to buy one of these and the Alexa light switch - bith £6 but they could not find the cabinet key. But they took my number to keep me a couple by when they find the key bless
Yeah you can even control it with your mind - amazing these Chinese gadgets! If only they could invent a device to control a woman now that would be impressive! (shock)
Not available for C&C for me ;( But in stock :D Heat Added
Why do the lights on these flicker?
Great weekend... BBQ day :D
Nice buddy - hope you are having a good weekend?
Nice find @matwalaboy (highfive)
Didn’t see any rechargeable batteries in the clearance sale but there is absolutely loads of stuff in the event
Are there rechargeable batteries as well?
Woah you bought the whole shop!
Good find may have to pop in tomorrow see what else they got.
Showing not available in Rotherham, but there were 4 reduced models on display. They've ordered me one in. If you're interested in one, it's definitely worth popping in and asking.
What were they renovating.....a dolls house ?
This - it was by far the biggest renovation cost when my friends did their house up. Took up about half their budget.
Don't trust the stock, Milton Keynes shows none but they have 2 x 5kw available
Managed to find one and great price, but does anyone know if these are any good?
Alkaline batteries are all largely the same, about 10-15% difference between the best and worst brand
Thanks my local homebase said £8.97 took them to till they were 2.10 bought 5 packs
My remotes have been very happy and have given no negative feedback on them. 7p a battery! No brainier
Are they any good? How do they compare to the likes of Duracell?
I have one of the 4way locking cat flaps for my rabbits - I was looking at getting another for the shed but doubt my store will have them and cant check online. Brilliant prices!
Wow! Fantastic prices for the Sureflap catflaps. We have the dual scan, which is designed to be used to program it to allow some cat/s outside, whilst denying others access outside.
Heat added, great price for the Sureflap. Unfortunately, no stock in any store near me, but Homebase stock checker isn’t always reliable. Been online for a few things, told OOS, chanced a trip anyway, only to find there was. Might be worth a check *if* the store isn’t out of your way.
Pet Flaps (lol)
Buy 3 and lock the small size safe inside the medium size safe. Then lock the medium size safe in the large size safe. Then leave it outside in the street for someone to steal. In the small safe leave a sheet of paper saying "What took you so long??"
Good deal if you can find it, safe bet ;)
Stroud branch had a couple left today around 4 o’clock
I picked this up.yesterday. The shelf sticker said the original price was £80, not £90. The smaller version that was £42 is now £12. There were at least 1 or 2 of the large ones left after I took my one and plenty of the medium and small ones in the Richmond store.
2 of the £24 left and 1 £90 left about an hour ago in Bury St Edmunds.
None in 100mile radius
No just thermal cut out.
I don't think this has rcd protection.
68 in stock at Basildon according to website
Several of the travel version in Walthamstow
massively overpriced at OP, but these prices are fantastic.. the power meter versions are probably outdated as they look like they are fixed at 2p or was it .2p per kwatt or something so not certain how relevent any more, but provides basic power usage functionality... but some of the other packs are brilliant... the Pink and purple units are the travel adapters sets, that come with 4 adapter heads which alll have the 'kettle lead plug fitting on them(IEC C13 I think)... so can also be replaced with a kettle lead as well to give an extended socket rather than hanging out of the wall... its a brilliant product at the discounted price, £4.20 without USB and £6 somat with 2 usb , but the angles sockets are also helpfull if wall warts are in use, and the easy clip to a flat surface and easy twist to remove again is again better than a standard extension of this type, but I agree theyre not for everyone.. I did pick up a few varieties to assist as quick and dirty extension blocks..the basic block is only £3 and they are actually a premium quality feel product.. not the be all and end all but a bargain at the price .. unlike the Ixo driver My local has stock ... OH and they have what I assume is a piezo remote on off button version theat I picked up a couple for the workshop so are perfect for the shed/workshop, remote lights on, remote power on for the vaccuum/dustcollection etc etc ..also going to use one in the loft to give remote switched lighting in the loft at the top of the ladder for infrequent use easy plug and play , no batteries in the remote to wear out etc etc etc ... lots of uses, tempted to go pick up a couple more of those before revealing the location LOL..... Norwich Sprowsten ;) fill yer boots :)
Agreed. So dodgy for electrical fires blocked in all public buildings.
Normal Homebase deal. No stock anywhere.
Thanks op, going to get 2, heat
Not available anywhere near me. Shame
saw a couple upstairs at oldbury store yesterday. Looks like cheap tat.
Showing things in stock but it says click and collect is unavailable :/ :/ :/
good find but none in west mids
Heat as actually was in the market for some of this stuff. Annoying when you select click and collect it doesn’t allow you even though stuff in stock.
You’re the second person to throw around the word “useless” and yet I routinely charge my iPhone X and iPad Pro from the USB-C socket so it’s far from useless. I get your point that it’s not PD but it doesn’t pretend to be, it is what it is and it does its intended job perfectly fine.
Lot of inaccuracies there. Lithium batteries do not suffer from the memory effect like the old ni-cad batteries did. Slower charging reduces the risks from thermal runaway (mainly due to not heating up as much) and the phone does not communicate with the cable or the charger to tell it to shut off - it just stops drawing a current itself when the battery is full. I've never used the charger that came with my phone, always use these chargers overnight, and also always let my battery run down before putting it on charge. But each to their own...
No, that's not true at all. You should NEVER leave your phone on charge overnight. All lithium based batteries suffer from something called the memory effect and the single biggest way you will shorten the life of your phone. I bet you never let the battery run to empty either do you?! Your device is designed to use the adaptor that came with it. It's specifically designed to communicate with your phone in fast charging mode to actively monitor the power draw to feed in exactly what the battery is capable of receiving at any given moment. Once the charge is complete it will shut of the supply. If on the other hand you just dump a dumb USB 1-2.4amp cable in there the charger won't switch off when the battery is full. You risk thermal runaway, ie the phone turning into an indoor pyrotechnic display two feet from your face on the bedside table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faU8rHsQBgk Don't trust random sockets to charge lithium batteries!
These are fine for overnight charging. Slower charging is better for the battery anyway. Slower you charge it, the longer it will last.
Useless though, 5V output it's the same as a legacy one just with a usb-c shaped socket instead. I've only seen one so far that supports PD but it had sketchy reviews. We're getting there but still a ways to go. someone needs to make a PD/QC 3+ one.
So I made a trip to my local Newtownabbey store and despite there being reported stocks of 24 seats there were of course none in the reduced section. A staff member mentioned that yes they had been there, but have all be sold. In my predicament I needed a seat and was directed upstairs where I found all the seats £30 here, £50 there. Further digging and I found the £7.99 one - of course out of stock. I then found one in stock with a shelf label of £5.99. Took 2 to the till and they scanned @ £1.80 each! Thanks OP!
Heat added - also perfect timing as the kids managed to crack the seat (!?), saw the standard for 90p - 4 in stock in my local! (20 in stock of the £1.90 versions!). I'll report back tomorrow if I managed to collect them!
Heat added ordered blue t&g loads in stock , Thanks op x (angel)
Bowled over by this deal.
Anyone done 'crap deal' yet?
My bathroom was done out before I moved in. For some reason they decided to install double taps in the basin. I would genuinely kick the person that chose double taps over a mixer in the bathroom square in the goddamn nuts. Thankfully I have a mixer in the kitchen. To anyone looking at installing these over a mixer, you need a slap!
what is the adapter to fit these on garden hoses/pressure washer?
Just spat my coffee out. Thank you! Still chuckling.
If you can fit them yourself these are a great buy. If you need a plumber I would suggest buying better quality so they last longer as your bigger expense is the labour and you dont want the plumber back regularly.
Heat added got two sets Thanks x (ninja)
Reserved 4 at my local Homebase which said 17 in stock.. 5 hours later they rang me “sorry we don’t have any the system is wrong “ Fab
To be fair that was an especially good deal, this particular deal is still decent.
expensive, i bought 40 plug plants for £5.95 inc delivery, these got delivered in June, potted them up and they already look bigger than those from homebase.
thanks OP - heat added - great find
Its a switched incoming mains cable. I.E. From the Meter there are two outputs; one to the internal (House) Consumer unit, the second goes to a switch whose output then goes to the garage consumer unit. If that makes sense.
What's the old one connected to? An incoming mains cable, or more likely it's spurred off your main consumer unit. I'm far from an expert on the regs, but if it comes off the main consumer unit I suppose it's much the same as changing any other wiring regs-wise.
Thanks for that. Prior to the tightening of the regs, I’ve done rewiring on property I’ve moved into (back in the 70’s/80’s) . Then got the local Electricity Board in to connect/approve the work. It was the price reduction on this unit that prompted me to look at a possible change out. I may just leave the old on in place.
Yes, it can. It's an easy job.Is that legal? Probably not. Can you do it competently?
I’ve currently got one the old ‘cast iron’ units (Two ceramic fuses, Light & Plug) in my garage. Can this be changed out without using a qualified electrician?
"with 2Amp Battery" with 2Ah - HUGE difference
Hot water bottle stuffed down me jeans (at the back) Great for dog walking in winter
Was going to post these myself but wasn't sure. https://www.homebase.co.uk/heated-jacket-hoodie-set-x-large_p487417https://www.homebase.co.uk/heated-jacket-hoodie-set-x-large_p487417 Heat from me op I haven't checked prices elsewhere but reckon prices are good
I have one to take back AEG wouldn’t let me register for extended warranty and it was pretty poor at heating imho... unless I have a faulty one
Thought Bunnings owners (Wesfarmers) would make a loss. When I was in Oz there was little competition for Bunnings, in fact in some towns there were only 2 major supermarket chains! They probably didn't have a clue how cuthroat it is in our economy.
I was told today by staff it's old stock from Bunnings . New owner wants to get rid apparently .
Cheers, won't bother picking up my reserved one 😄
Awful reviews of unreliable video and breakdown of unit.
Please be a ware that Homebase staff are reserving these deals for themselves where it quite clearly says click and collect is not available. Preston store in particular lied to my mrs on different items saying they had been reserved click and collect when the website says it is not available. as a click and collect item.I suspect Homebase staff are either selling on ebay or do car boot sales. Either way, perhaps Homebase managment need to look into it, the fraud going on internally may explain the companies sinking fortunes.
Are they having a fire sale.
Just to blank it out.
Great deal (y)
Why does a fire need a blanket? Surely it's warm enough?
Which branch ? Have you got the bill ? Barcode ? Or product code? Pls
Got few today and others Thanks op
Hi, Do you have the barcode of the TP link WiFi extender (which comes only one unit it self which you have shown right at the beginning of this thread) . Thanks
