I'd advise to get the extended warranty for £14 or so, they'll replace it with a boxed new printer when it does die (instant in-store) and the replacement will have another 9 months free ink.

I have this printer and it is terrible. Gets stuck if printing multiple pages. Had a replacement sent from hp and same issues. Just about okay for basic one or two random pages being printed. Also bought because of the 9 months free instant ink but not worth the headache of it getting stuck when doing a big print

If you'd bought the Curry's warranty, they'd have swapped in-store for a brand new boxed printer and you'd have got another 9 months to add to your account for your trouble and again, and again, each time your printer died within a 3 year period.

Lucky u got 10 months....hp plus might send you one... They seem such. Poor quality tho... I don't understand what they don't make them better if they want people to subscribe long term to them.... (edited)

Avoid HP inkjet. Rip off. They're currently in court due to their ridiculous practices

Links? I'm happy with my HP but your needs may differ. Currys (with the extended warranty) has meant I've not paid a thing since the initial outlay.

I had this printer and it's very basic. Be aware it does not have duplex printing if you need that. The paper feed makes it larger than other front loaders. I traded up after 3 months as missed duplex printing.

I disagree, I had an issue with my HP printer this week, I had purchased the £14 Curry's warranty, within 5 minutes of visiting my local store I got a brand new boxed replacement and another 6 months free instant ink as compensation. I speak from experience (edited)

My hp printers have always worked well. The reason I will never buy one again is the instant ink system. I signed up to instant ink and it arrives as promised, but the issue is the ink cartridges contain virtually no ink,so they send you lots of cartridges. I started to have a backlog of loads of unused cartridges. So I paused it until I used the cartridges up.....You can't do that! If you dont pay monthly, they lock the printer. You can't use anything, not even the scanner. The cartridges have to be used in order as they have a use by date set on them...so after a set time, they become useless. I've had to return around 30 unused cartridges that were out of date. I can't find cartridges to buy in shops easily and resetting up the subscription is impossible due to numerous checks and verification issues.
Not only do I hate subscriptions for everything in general (ADHD doesn't help), but the plastic this system generates is unbelievably wasteful, uneconomical and environmentally disgusting.
I've tried to tell HP this but never get a response either

Blimey, HP have gotten worse - sorry to read of your terrible experience with the cartridges, etc

You've helped me decide: all HP printers are now OFF my list of poss' new buys

In my expierience Instant Ink is a rip off... with like a minimum of 7quid a month after trial... and then you luck y if it works.... mine kept thinking ink tanks were full when they were empty so they wouldn't send ink... never again HP.

I've had free instant ink for years. I just keep buying a new printer and the inks free 🖨️
