You don't need to buy anything apart from accessories unless something goes wrong.I have had a bike for the last 9 years (used nearly every week) and have never replaced any parts. As for "servicing" you do that yourself with some simple tools, things such as tightening bolts and chain. The only thing I have bought for servicing in that 9 years is a 2 bottle's of chain lube which are around £4 each.So for 10 years you would expect to spend around £10 for service costs. Dude, put your £600 towards a holiday.

Dude, I cycle 3-4K miles a year. It doesn't happen unless I replace a few parts each year.

Whether IKEA will still be fulfilling the warranty in 10 years is another matter.

belt drive is a big selling point, and other than decathlon you wont find a belt drive bike for under £500....

This has one of the highest weight capacities of any bike at 160kg or just over 25 stone, it's designed so anyone can get cycling without restriction. So it's a heavy bike for that reason, there is probably a couple of kg in there of extra strengthening. I think its a great concept but not for everyone.

Was just at Wembley this morning and made 18 separate transactions oO felt a little bad but the attendant was sweet and told me not to worry (probs cause there was no queue) I think I remember from a previous campaign that there was a way to redeem more than one code a day? Any thoughts? So far unsuccessful both online and at kiosk - thanks

How many transaction had you made before yesterday(13th) to only win 3 HD's and 1 ice cream. i just go there and every week ideally Costco is in Wembley and Lakeside and being in the middle of the two I choose between them and collect the weekly codes with each family cards so make 14 different

I have had about 6 of each ice creams and frozen yogurt.

Re the separate transaction purchases I just go to the self service and lay the card on the table and scan each item 1 at a time and by now I have learned the sequence of actions to speed up each purchase. Press the buttons to get to scanning the product and scan the FC before pressing finish this minimises the time then at the time of payment I use just touch the card and get ready for the next item. Believe me it is much easier than going to the tills and there will come a time when you will see the frustration in one such cashiers eyes. Give them a break and go to the self check out. The only thing is the staff at the SCk will wonder what is going on but will not say anything as long as you make sure all are paid for.

Smart Things is a nicer package and easier to setup, but the hardware its compatible with will possibly cost more; Using Domoticz and extra hardware (RFlink, ESP's, arduinos etc) you can make anything do anything. Like VBV, i have a similar setup. I have a light sensor upstairs when sends it's readings to domoticz. When the light levels are low enough and i go into my bedroom, the lights will turn on. When it gets later on..the lights will turn on but a bit dimmer. Then after 11pm i have them come on really dim.If this wasn't a hobby of mine i'd buy a Smart Things setup, because god knows it'd stop me scratching my head and getting annoyed when a new project doesn't work like i want it to :P

Looks interesting that..
I looked at doing similar with my Pi before I got SmartThings.
If I was wanting a motion sensor in the hall for instance would that mean I would need a pi,board & sensor all hooked up in the hall?

The Ikea bulbs DO start in last config. That was one of my concerns. I picked up a lot at the weekend and am impressed.
For reference I have 433Mhz wall switches in my home, and went back to a standard switch to try these out. Best bit is they are 2-way comms (unlike my 433Mhz stuff) and the ability to do colour temperature too is a nice touch. Sure they will be offline if someone switches them off at the wall, but I think these are easier for a visitor to use than my old wireless switches.
Another challenge you have with wall switches is that not all are compatible with LED, and dimming LEDs on 230v is more complex than doing it in the bulb!

I was against the hue / in bulb setup, but with these restoring last config at power on I am coming around to liking this setup better!

Where do you think I am contradicting myself? I'm just correcting what you said and emphasising why the Swedes are big on family life. It's not a contradiction. A cultural emphasis on family life and a loyalty scheme where you join a family are two things that are not opposed to each other, they're actually quite complimentary.

Don't get me wrong, I am an Ikea fan and have loads of Ikea furniture I am really pleased with and love. The higher price is with mattesses (they do sometimes advertise price with mattresses) because this was always a cheaper option than the Hemnes. We bought this bed with the foam mattresses. For my little boy in top of 2 foam mattresses it was fine. When we had guests and my husband and I used it for 5 nights it was horrendous. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and slim, when I got on (10 stone) a slat broke. I have never slept so badly. Basically this is just a minor price drop, £185 to £159. It's an complete nightmare to put together. Took ages and some mdf split. It wasn't worth £120 let alone £160. The cheap mattressss were awful. To be fair Ikea refunded the bed after 6 months. We were stuck with the mattresses though. We have instead purchased an iron bed in a similar style (trundle pull out underneath and becomes a double) so much more comfortable.

You probably selected wrong mattress for you. I believe i went firm on a similar ikea pull out bed, and everyone loves it when they stay, far comfier than my more expensive mattress on my bed.

HiCare to explain how the set-up works. Do you buy two single mattresses … HiCare to explain how the set-up works. Do you buy two single mattresses and where does the 2nd one store when the unit is being used as a single bed or seat ? Thanks in advance

Hi buggbairn, I set ours up in box room at our house and grandparents so don't have enough room to pull out to use second bed, bought as fit the space and good for storage. But you would buy two mattresses and place one on to of other then when you want to use the trundle bed pull out bed and slide mattress over. HTH

Not at all. Clearly you are just being picky and haven't read the other posts. There are a number of reasons this bed is poor quality and not value for money.
They do have a guest bed currently on offer which looks better for £95.
I'm not just saying the mattress was poor at all, it is the mattress advertised with the bed and if it was just a mattress issue I would've returned them under ikeas very good return policy. The mattresses are fine on2 other Ikea beds we owned.
I was simply stating that I did purchase the cheaper ones recommended but as I have several Ikea foam mattresses I could not see how the superior ones would enhance this bed.
Shane you didn't bother to read my comments obviously just popped along for a little bit of internet trolling.
