sorted byThe 2TB was on here recently reduced to £799, John Lewis are selling that speck reduced at £1349, shows how Costco are really putting out the iPad sales,
My question is, which is the better buy:
the M1 with 1TB. i.e. 16gb memory.
the M2 with 256gb, i.e. 8gb memory but faster graphics and memory bandwidth.
Just been browsing the web and it's not clear how the two options compare.
It would be nice to do graphics and video editing without having clunky multi-tasking getting in the way. I'm a bit sensitive to how well the iPad handles multi-tasking when low on memory, in theory it's supposed to save the state, but it really doesn't, even with Apple's own apps. On a first gen iPad Pro with only 2gb memory it really highlights this - even using Notes, switching to browser, then switching back to Notes often sees Notes reload and restore state, and it never gets it quite right, especially scroll position.
When I bought the first gen iPad Pro, most people were saying the memory will be fine, Apple is efficient with memory. But as usual, fast forward a few OS updates, and the RAM became inadequate. This has happened with just about every iPad and iPhone I've owned over the years. Remember the iPhone 3G and it being rendered unusable after a major OS update, and the hundred-ish page forum threads of unhappy customers, yeah, for that reason I treat the "8gb is more than enough" with a pinch of salt in the longer term.
Any thoughts? Can't decide.
I opted for this offer as opposed to the M2 for precisely the same logic as you.
This was the one I was waiting for.
Expensive yes. But Apple would want to charge you an eye-watering £1,700 for this model these days.
When it comes to resale, you're unlikely to get the extra £60.
Either it's a glitch with the website or the deal with Apple has ended.
Or all the models coincidentally sold out at exactly the same time?
