That feedback score is not great by eBay standards...

They also say phones may be refurbished with non-OEM (ie third-party) parts which can show an error message but 'it's fine'...

Best to stick to the known good retailers like 4Gadgets and cheapest-electrical imo. (edited)

I bought the same phone from these guys about two weeks ago for £279.99 in "very good" condition, but you wouldn't have said so looking at the condition of it when it arrived.
I ended up returning it after a week, because despite having 85% battery health, the battery life was shocking. My previous phone was a Pixel 6a, which in comparison lasted a lot longer.
Their returns process was pretty straightforward mind you.

iPhone 12 has always had pretty bad battery especially if using 5G. The condition alone sounds like you should have returned it and I presume most of the ease of return is eBay not them. (edited)

These phones are reconditioned often with non genuine parts, buy from private seller.

They do tell you that before you buy but for that reason I wouldn't even look. Non-genuine parts/refurbishment is a surefire way to a phone that is on its last legs.

Typing on an iPhone 12 bought from cheapest_electrical on eBay last month. £299, 11 months Apple warranty left, basically a brand new phone (100% battery obviously). Had a tiny 5mm scratch on the back and was graded as “C”.

Even C grade from Cheapest Electrical is what I would call very good condition!

Heat added! Any similar deals on the 13?

    80%? Not good

Better off buying off a private seller on eBay who clearly shows the condition of the phone

Nonsense deal! I got a 12 Mini from GiffGaff a couple of months back for £225 in perfect condition; like new but it hadn’t even been opened.
