Nice price! I highly recommend giffgaff if you aren't happy when you receive it, no hassle refund
    font2013's avatar
    is it free to return?

edit; found out it is free returns! (edited)

Think there's a nice Quidco cashback with Giffgaff at moment too.

Bare in mind these have a very small battery from the factory, and it's probably got 80 - 90% battery health, which means u probably get half day use out of it.
    ScorchingHot's avatar
Mine has 100% battery, got it for about £225 from GG, in ‘LIKE NEW’ condition, and my battery life is perfect! Use it all day long for work and it doesn’t decrease quickly, whatsoever.

Last time I got this offer the phone was brand new basically, no scratches no marks, 10 months of Apple warranty left & 100% battery health
    BodenWRX's avatar
I bought a like new, it came sealed in original Apple box.

Got one of these in April, Good, Grade C and it arrived with 100% battery and 50 days left to buy apple care. It had been opened once and put back in the box, no signs of wear. I am not having battery problems so far, would upgrade to the 13 for a similar price though (edited)

I had one of these from new a couple of years ago. Was reaching for the charger by 6/7pm every day

I currently have a galaxy s23 which regularly gets me a through a day with lots of use ending with 40-50% battery

Just got mine….battery 100% and in brand new condition, checked warranty and it expired in November 2021 a real shame. Looks like it just been sitting around somewhere in stock room for 3 years (edited)

Brand new condition and 100% battery health here too. No apple warranty, so just the 12 month giffgaff warranty. Still pretty happy with that! Now to see if the misses will like blue....

    Awful battery life be warned
    Beyourself's avatar
Do u know if 13 mini have better battery?
  9. Croftybaby's avatar
Mine was delivered, great condition but doesn't recognise any SIM
    Bargain_hunter777's avatar
If sim does not work it is most likely blacklisted

Just received my delivery today. Definitely giffgaff changed the display with third party supply. However, phone is alright. I asked giffgaff regarding the parts. They replied that they use third party parts. But overall, good. Face ID is working and battery health 100%. Thank you.

    Deedee79's avatar
How can you tell they changed the screen
  11. PowerExtreme's avatar
mine initially tracked at £20 something and then uplifted to £35 confirmed. didn't take a new sim. just the phone.
    finknottle's avatar
Thank you! Was that Quidco or Topcashback?
  12. ES02's avatar
Would avoid this as the battery life was a known issue and massively upgraded for the 13 mini, which was not too bad for battery life. Also, this will probably have 80-90% of that original capacity remaining
    ScorchingHot's avatar
“Probably” being the key word. I bought a ‘like new’ iPhone 12 Mini from GiffGaff about a month ago for work - cost me £225, it came in perfect condition, perfect battery health and the battery does not drop down as you state above.
  13. MisterMike's avatar
Mines being delivered today so I'll see how it looks when it arrives and let you guys know
    MisterMike's avatar
Arrived and looks basically new. 100% battery health too. Definitely could have been graded Like new/Excellent.

£229 for a relatively recent iPhone with the peace of mind of buying from Giffgaff has got to be a good deal. Minis seem to be just smaller versions of the standard issue for the main part whereas the SE phones seem to sacrifice more functionality (and style in the case of the most recent version. That's case in both senses of the word. (edited)
    ukflyboy's avatar
They were effectively brand new too - perfect condition, 100% battery health, though and been registered in 2021 with Apple so no manufacturers warranty. Fantastic deal!
  15. luckylemon's avatar
I seem to be able to buy it for £229. What is the goodybag thing?
    MITZZZ999's avatar
Just a way of them getting a Giffgaff SIM sold with a plan / bundle.
  16. ukflyboy's avatar
Well got one for the Mrs as her SE could do with replacing. We'll see what condition it arrives in and if she'll put up with blue!
  17. font2013's avatar
y'all beat me to it! Blue one is gone now!
      - only black and red left - both from £269 onwards.
edit: went back to website later on in day and got it for 229 (edited)

Alrighty.. have rolled the dice and let's see where it lands!
have ordered two. let me see if I get them new or pretty bruised ones. Will keep one and return the other.
  19. PowerExtreme's avatar
I have the 1st one arriving at 1 and the 2nd being delivered at 4pm. Will report back on what condition they come in. Hoping to be lucky as some of the other fellow HUKDers.
    PowerExtreme's avatar
the first one has arrived. not a speck or even a hairline scratch.have put it on charge. Will check the battery and warranty in a while. Surprised how top grade it is - cosmetically!

Thanks OP, ordered last night and 50£ quidco tracked, let's see if it pays??

The phone arrived this morning and it looks like brand new phone, flawless, not a single mark on it.
Cannot believe this is classed as 'good' and the battery max capacity is 100%.
    Thanks again, well impressed. (edited)
    font2013's avatar
    How’d u get £50? I only see a 37.50 cashback
  22. Bargain_hunter777's avatar
Anyone ordered and the phone not recognising the sim? Went through to Apple told that’s due to IMEI being blacklisted!!!
    font2013's avatar
    Jesus, nightmare!
  23. no_names3y's avatar
    Is it unlocked?
    I_Zebra's avatar
    Yes. See the original post!

Buy a powerbank to go with it... you'll need it.

    Are they that bad?
Looking for a new phone for my daughter as her iphone 7 has is dying with audio ic fault.

Have Apple made a phone with a decent battery life??
  25. PowerExtreme's avatar
does anyone know if topcashback works for giffgaff refurbished phones?
I can see giffgaff separate and giffgaff phones as separate retailers on TCB. Do I need to buy with the sim and activate it for the cashback to work?
    ScorchingHot's avatar
I went through TCB and it's still pending but I've not long ordered my phone from there!
  26. anotherllama's avatar
Thanks OP, bought. My 6S decided yesterday that it was going to start boot-looping and not turn on anymore. 7 years was a pretty good run!

I've been eyeing up 12 minis for a few months now and this seems to be even cheaper than one from eBay with a cracked screen!

Edit: Just got it, about 24h after ordering. Looks pretty much brand new. Delivered via DPD in a generic GiffGaff box with the phone and a lightning cable. (edited)

    What's the problem with GiffGaff?
  30. Glenda_Jones's avatar
Do I have to take a contract out? Or can I just buy the phone?
    MisterMike's avatar
I ordered the phone without a sim. it gives the option to buy without sim at the bottom of the goodybag prices
  31. MITZZZ999's avatar
Received mine. Excellent, very impressed with condition, battery capacity 100%. My nephew is going to love this.
    font2013's avatar
Anyone know if giffgaff replaces the battery in these?
  32. costi_costa's avatar
My Quidco cashback was only £37.50. The phone looks brand new, 100% battery capacity, but for the warranty it says Apple cannot verify the purchase date, so it doesn’t say it expired. I’ll call Apple and try activate the 1 year warranty. Thank you OP!
  33. kjhsfcgjkc's avatar
    £269 now. Bum.
  34. abeuk's avatar
Had one delivered but it's dead, bummer.
    costi_costa's avatar
    Put it on charge
  35. PowerExtreme's avatar
mine shows genuine apple part. it's yellow cause of blue light filter. turn it off. I did and its perfect.
    font2013's avatar
So did mine. Apple have a way to check and that’s how they told me it was not genuine. They shone a light throught it and detected the bezel didnt line up they said, which was a telltale sign of a replacement. They said whoever did it did a good job but it wasnt an original screen. I asked why the software didnt flag it was replaced. She said it was cos the repairer probably disabled warnings using a program. Scary people go to these lengths to mask repairs!
  36. finknottle's avatar
Could anyone please confirm whether cashback tracks/confirms without taking a new SIM?
  37. wheelerdeal3r's avatar
Is it likely to come down to this price again soon?
