Thanks- love Islay but only indulged in single malt so this will be a new experience.

Unless it says "single cask" on the label, all whiskies are blended anyway. Single Malt just means all the barrels in the blend come from the same distillery. Can be from different years even.

Still got a couple left from when they used to sell these in duty free for ~£20/litre bottle ...wont pay £29 for this though

Worth a try, I love caol ila and double black label, so it's got to be a winner

Just so people understand the difference: Typical Johnnie Walker Black is a blend of whiskies from something like 29 distilleries all over scotland (so most of the regions with all their flavour variations are covered). This Islay edition, if I'm correct, only blends whiskies from Islay together (so basically Caol Ila and Lagavulin) to create a special more peated version of JW Black.

My total dislike for Johnnie Walker whisky is unfortunately akin to the vegan's need to tell everyone.

I wish it wasn't, but I know I'm not alone.
