This is the best whisky Johnnie Walker make in my opinion:
Blend: All malt whisky - no grain whisky
ABV: 43% not 40% (even expensive Blue only 40%!) = more flavour
Age statement: Very respectable 15 years
Unfortunately, still chill filtered and with artificial colouring added to it.

Sadly, it's not what it used to be. Here's a cheaper, better alternative in my opinion (unless you're concerned about brand names!): Thompson Bros 8 Year Old SRV5 Blended Malt 48.5%

I got a bottle recently and it's delicious! £35 is the RRP so check a decent local whisky shop. If they don't have this then ask what they'd recommend. It'll most likely be better than this deal! (edited)

Many thanks for the recommendation on 8yr old SRV5, Jiffy. That is totally new on me...

The top names like JW can certainly add a premium price-wise and other than some well known names like Lagavulin and Balvenie I never quite know what's truly worth the cost. At this price point I do think the Lagavulin 8yr old at £38 is very rewarding - not the full wallop of 16 year old but complex and long.
There is something new on Amazon called Nikka Days Blend at this price point too but 'fresh summery and light' doesn't bode too well...

Its ok, but agree with others.. its just a little too much for a blended/coloured Whisky, before I got into various other brands this would be my go to one, but it should be £28/30 max..

I last bit at the £30 mark. Think it's good value for that. £36-40 a bit too much.

I don't object to paying £36 for a blend (not that I spend that much on whisky often), and this is a really nice one. You can really taste the Caol Ila in this, and at £36 is the same as a bottle of 12 year old Caol Ila. But there's so much available for under £30, that it's hard to justify. If you want to spend that much, and like light - medium peated whiskies, then you won't go wrong with this.
