    Memory foam makes you sweat a lot. If your someone who gets very hot at night and prefer cooler temperature then it's a no no. Its non natural fibre so doesn't breath. You want a proper spring mattress with at least 1400 springs with as much natural fibre you can find.

    What about a 10" pocket sprung mattress but includes 4cm of memory foam? should i just avoid foam altogether? i am indeed a hot sleeper.

    Terrible mattress. Not even real memory foam, just regular sponge type foam that stinks for a few weeks when opened. I wouldn't recommend this mattress to anyone, Amazon never picked it up either. 3 failed collection attempts left us with a mattress we can't use.

    These types of mattress are made in Chhina and you have no way of knowing how toxic the foam or sponge is. At least more well known brands are often certified by oeki tex or similar and made in the EU or UK so are much safer and barely offgas.

    I have memory foam mattress. Smell went away but for some reason when we lie down middle of the bed becomes like wedge shape uncomfortable to sleep. Strange. Won't be buying again.

    There are many, many 'non-natural' materials that breathe very well. A sweeping statement saying non-natural materials don't breathe is just wrong.
