Picked this deal up for a server machine I have.
Ordered at 18:40 and delivered by eBuyer the next day at 12:30....can't fault that and it's nice to not default to buying off Amazon and giving Bezos more money to burn.

Drive picked up on boot, copied data over and read 768gb of data off it at a consistent 2100mb/s as advertised.

These are certainly not the fastest, however they are TLC drives with a DRAM cache, meaning good longevity. Here's a review of one. Currently these are also available on Amazon for the same price.

The 400 TBW is a little on the low side for a 1TB drive.

I currently have a 500GB M.2 SSD in my PC, I normally just clone my drives when upgrading. What's the best way to achieve this, with only one M.2 slot?

Got the email about the price drop and was hoping no one had posted it yet, oh well.

I must have installed around 40-50 of these over the last couple of years.
Very reliable drives (as you'd expect from Kioxia).

Sequential speeds aren't the fastest, but that's only an issue if you spend a lot of time transferring large files around.
For everything else they are great for the price. (edited)

Do you work for yourself? If so how's the market currently with self builds etc? Seems very competitive

So, I have just got back from holiday, downloaded my photos into Lightroom and I've finally filled my poor little M2 256GB SSD where I keep my Windows install and the Lightroom catalogue. When I bought it back in 2018 as part of a pre-built Dell, it was pretty top end, but clearly not any more.

So, can anyone advise if I should snap up a cheap 1GB like this as it's all I need, or spend a little more on something like a Crucial P5 Plus or a Samsung Evo Plus. I understand I should look for a TLC device with some DRAM. I wont be gaming on it (nothing that requires speed anyway), but reliability and longevity (5-8 years) are very important to me. Thanks for any advice!

It really depends if you're going to make use of the higher sequential speeds of the other drives.
If you do a bit of photo/video editing frequently it may be worth the extra.

If it's just an occasional thing, go for this one.

Just found this for £45 -

Excellent drive for that, would pick it over the 970 Evo (and even some of the gen4 drives with DRAM).
Obviously not for those wanting the high sequential speeds of gen4 for large file transfers, but for everyone else it's a great option.

    1TB benchmarks here -

Feel free to post it as a deal, I'm feeling lazy. (edited)
