PLEASE NOTE that these are the chrome-plated version. Chrome plating may not be as durable as the standard cutters, but should be more resistant to rust. Just guessing here, as I haven't used chrome plated side cutters.

Maybe just personal preference, but I predominantly use side cutters for cutting cable and prefer them to be VDE rated which these are not.

Good price though, anything Knipex is top quality.

I’ve got these, I’m disappointed with the quality to be honest with you, they get stiff pretty easily and they don’t stay as sharp as you’d hope.

I don’t use mine a great deal but I’ve been impressed as the mechanism is incredibly smooth and easy. Time will tell how it holds up though… (edited)

I have these. I keep them well looked after and they don't get stiff at all(people might have issues if they neglect how they store/treat them). I have used them to cut tons of bolts up to m6 and long thick nails like the type used for roof joists and the cutting edge is like new still.

Cuts like butter into thick iron/steel metal. If used just for copper cabling you can't go wrong (for decades?) with these. Great build quality. I invested in knipex for a while now and everything is still like new after heavy use.
