My local off licence sell Hardys VR for £5.49 a bottle, 2 for £8.50, 6 for £24 = £4 a bottle
Good deal for these wines.
I don't understand why these wine deals go cold. I bought the Rude wines offer which was a bargain, as is this. Should last me a week anyway!
They also have a guarantee if you don't like the wines then they will refund you
I have been drinking wine for the last 55 yrs so probably know when a bottle of wine is decent but if you don't want to buy a£9 bottle of wine for £3.99 don't place an order.
Thanks for posting this. My wine and extra's arrive tomorrow. The extra's alone are worth the price, never mind the wine and avios points!

I signed up on their £40 deal a while ago, and was amazed by how tasty the wine actually was. I normally just buy which even £5 bottle looks interwar the supermarket, with very mixed results. Stopped the next delivery as hadn't finished the case but just tool the latest summer case and was pretty happy once again, though this one was nearly £90 - but I'm slowly learning what a good bottle is. Sure will be great at this price. Cancelling is simple and you can even do it online.
5.25% TCB too
Thanks for sharing, jonnyblock. I've just amended your title slightly here as you need to "sign up" to a wine plan but you can cancel this at any time according to their terms. "The credit or debit card that you use to pay for the introductory case will be charged for all future wine plan cases at the prices below (depending on the wine plan that you have selected). There is no obligation to take further cases - you can miss a case or cancel your wine plan at any time. Simply let us know by making changes to your wine plan online in your account or by calling us on 03330 148 188."
OK, as i usually do i had a mess about with the discount code, couldn't get Direct70/60/50 to work but Direct40 does, so an extra 10 quid, So if the OP could update the deal code it'll maybe get soem more heat
tastes fine for the price
Just opened first bottle - not really fizzy. In fact, I would say it's flat. Still tastes nice though but not exactly what I was expecting.
Heat given. Cheers.
Excellent deal, thanks OP,
And then when you buy the wine you are entering an agreement where you will be sent 12 more bottles every 8 to 12 weeks unless you remember to say no. Hardly a deal. I used to be a member with Laithwaites and enjoyed the wine but left because it was costing me too much. Cannot complain about the quality of the wines I was sent. OP just joined and immediately posts this Very cold from me
Which means you have to join the wine club and get more cases even if you don't want them?
This is just the standard laithwaites/virgin wine offer that amazon stuff in their packaging isn't it?
Decent company- ignore the ignorant detractors. I don't buy from them anymore because I don't have any taste in wine and never pay more than £3 a bottle. I bought one time, on a cheap deal like this. They will send you emails, junk mail and phone you up, though, once they have your details.
Laithwaites definitely don't only sell relabelled wine. My grandfather was a member for many years and I don't remember once being served a dud. Good deal.
Seemed like a good idea until I saw £7.99 delivery charge!
Generally speaking, yes, Laithwaites wine is only sold by Laithwaites - if you believe the marketing info this is because they do deals direct with the small Vinyards and then do the importing - none of their wine (in my experience) is supposed to be 'Laithwaites brand' and while more expensive than the likes of Tesco's, Virgin, etc the wine i've had from them has been of good quality. Unlike Tesco's or Virgin, if you have one of their shops near you you can go in and taste the stuff ! Anyway, as for the deal - they did a similar thing to this last year and as a 'new customer' managed to bag a Christmas special case which represented a saving of £20 or so on the individual bottle price, this then qualified me to purchase one of their 'Mystery Cases' which was, from memory, Bottles priced at at least £5.00 each at the equivalent price of £3.00 each (although most were worth nearer £8, and a couple nearly £20 - its luck of the draw though). I then applied the £25.00 off for new customers and picked it up from Store to save on the delivery. Result - 24 Bottles of good quality wine, worth at least £8.00 each (some a lot more) for under £3.00 a bottle. Only downside - yes they signed me up for their 3 monthly 'wine plan' but they don't just send it to you and take your money, they contact you first & the phone call to opt out took all of 30 seconds, so considering the saving i wasn't really fussed. Can't really complain about that if you want to try new wine.
It's a good deal but the 'cold voters' are out in force on this one. I've bought from Laithwaites for years and have never had a bottle of 'own label' yet. Typical reaction from people that just don't know. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. . . . . . just saying
Good price! :D
Good price for the widow, hot
HOT!!! Thank RedOnRed, just used WINEDIRECT to get £25 of todays chrismas offer 13 bottles of rioja for £51.98 delivered can't be bad :D
That might be true but as far as I can see they're the only unexpired Laithwaites vouchers on here and £40 off aint too bad...I just got it.
I've not voted. But they're not particularly good compared to what they've done in previous years. I've had a couple of their cases for around the £50 mark for 15 bottles in the past couple of years. And their wine is really damn good. This deal just doesn't compare to that. Not voting though as this is at least current. I'd love to find another promo like last year :)
Don't the codes work then? They did for me.
Do what I do and ring them up quoting their money back guarantee and get all the wine for free!
Sunday Times and Virgin are both part of Laithwaites.............. Plenty of discount vouchers around for all the main wine dealers without having to join a club. Try here http://www.winesdirect.co.uk/vouchers.aspx
Fine line here between what you can get in ASDA or TESCO compared to this deal or even those of deals such as Virgin. In reality I dont think there is much of a saving after postage etc.
As long as it's easy to opt out of the club than its a great deal!
its not a tie in club i just thought it was a good deal at £3.34 a bottle. at least you gave a reason rather than just voting down. ah well nuts im gonna enjoy my cheap wine ;-)
I can just imagine why this is so cold.... Why buy a £2000 watch when my £10 casio does the same job of thought.... Hence, what £24 a bottle! I can get champagne from Lidl/Aldi/Netto for £8 bottle or a champagne looking bottle for £2.75 lol
bolly at £24 a bottle. thats good
Sweet! If you were going to buy from Laithwaites anyway, then having £30 off is a fantastic bonus - still plenty of time to get them delivered for Fathers day!
Thanks for the £30 off - just used it :-)
12 bottles @ £2.83 a bottle all delivered for Fathers day - why are'nt more folks biting?! Seems a BARGAIN to me!
excellent deal, many thanks
I think Laithwaites is also available on Airmiles.... they have ales and lager in bottles too on the Airmiles deals if you have some to use up... Voted **HOT**
